My husband is thinking that the whole leave breakfast for fast pass thing is dumb...he just doesnt understand :lmao: I was thinking that since there are 2 Toy Story rides and we are staying at ASMo (hopefully in the Toy Story section) that maybe we can just skip one to save time? Do we need to do this since we are not riding anything with a height restriction?

If we can just skip one then which one should we do? We will be at MK for a full day and for MNSSHP and DHS one day.

The two rides are very different. The only comparisons are that you shoot at something and its Toy Story.

At MK there is Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin that is the older ride and you never have to rush to get a FP or even just ride it.

Toy Story Mania is the one you need to get to early and its worth it. Its 4D and very fun.

But you can't say well I did Buzz so there is no is no reason to do TSM.

It's really up to you. While Buzz Lightyear is a fun ride, I personally think TSMM is better. The 3D just adds a whole additional layer of fun.
However, if you have kids who are too young to do it themselves, or will have trouble keeping the 3D glasses on, you may find that Buzz Lightyear is sufficiently fun, and you should be able to do it multiple times with minimal waits, whereas you'll only get to do TSMM once, maybe twice.

It really depends on what you mean by "save time." Ultimately, you'll have less to do in DHS, though the shows take some time. Whereas, the Magic Kingdom has a higher number of attractions, which will be hard to complete even with skipping all the ones with height restrictions and spending more time there. We never wait more than 20 minutes for anything, but would have no problem riding a single attraction multiple times if the wait is short enough, which at times pushes the time spent at that attraction well over our 20 minute limit.

We skipped both when we went in November, because we were traveling with a 3 month old who would not have appreciated either, while making it difficult for one of us to participate. Since I am rather competitive, I would have felt unfulfilled had we done either and not been able to compete to our full capacity.:rolleyes1

If your husband doesn't want to run off to get TSMM Fast Passes first thing in the morning, then you probably don't need to make him. Since you won't have anything else to get FPs for in DHS (unless they're running the ones for the shows, which usually doesn't happen anymore), you could simply wander over there after you finish your breakfast and get them then. The return time will likely be much later, but you can do everything else in the park, then come back.

The last 2 times I was at DHS, the FPs for Toy Story Mania were out by noon. This an attraction where a FP is a must. When I was there in March, I actually waited in line for 20-30 minutes for a FP and that was right when the park opened. I have never had to wait longer than 20minutes stand by for Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. I love both rides. I have not attended the MNSSHP yet, but we will in October:woohoo: I have been to MVMCP and it was like we had the whole park to ourselves, we rode Goofy's Barnstormer 5 times without getting off and rode the Buzz Lightyear ride about 4 times with absolutely no line. You may just want to save Buzz for the party night and get to DHS early to FP TSM.

If you are going to skip anything, skip Buzz.

To get on TSM at a time that works in your schedule, you'll have to leave the breakfast. A fast pass for TSM is a MUST!!! We go straight there, get a fast pass and ride it. This way we can ride it twice. On our second day, we seperate. I got to Jedi Training with my son and my DH goes to TSM for a fast pass.

Work the system and you'll be happier!!!

I think I *might* understand where your husband is coming from. "This is supposed to be a vacation right? You're supposed to relax on vacations? So why are we going to jump up from a nice relaxing breakfast and hurry to a ride, just so we get the most out of our vacaton?" :confused3:confused3

I'll tell you this. Last year on our 8 day first vacation to Disney World, we didn't go to Toy Story Mania once. We had an incredible time! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 We did do Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin and that was fun. TSM is the only "big" rope drop ride we didn't do last year. We did pretty much everything else at all four parks, but for some reason, this one didn't line up with our plans. It doesn't bother me at all. We'll hit it this year. There is so much to do at Disney that one ride doesn't make or break your trip. Have a GREAT time!!!

Just my $0.02.

maybe I should be the one to run and get the FPs since I know what I'm doing and know how important it is :lmao:

LOL. +1

It's a ride. Is it a good ride yes. Will your vacation fall apart if you don't ride it NO.

give the guy a break, let him eat his breakfast.

I luv both rides, the Buzz ride and Toy Story Mania are both really fun! I think you should have a compromise: You can have breakfast with tour husband, and go to the Buzz ride afterwards. That way everyone's happy! And maybe you can go to Toy Story Mania later that day or a different day and get a Fast pass for it then! Whatever you choose, good luck! :thumbsup2

If you are going in Sept/Oct. If you show up at 10-11 you will still probably be able to get fastpasses to it. And even still...you Can (GASP!) still stand in line and enjoy Mr. Potato Head to ride it.

As an AP, I very rarely make it to a park before noon, and therefore typically never have fastpasses for that ride. I've stood in line for everywhere from 10mins-1.5 hours. It just all depends.

Looking at your pic it looks like you have 2 little ones. So do we.... we do buzz spin at MK MULTIPLE times a day. My ds2 would ride it all day if I let him. This ride is easy to get on and get a FP for. There is no reason to skip it really. It won't add stress.

The one at HS is a mess. It's a great ride... but you HAVE got to get a FP and you have to get there early to get one. With little ones who most likely will not wear the 3d glasses we found it more trouble then is worth!
