We will probably be eating at Toy Story when we go to MGM. I am leary about this because of the arcade. We are already paying alot of money for this trip and would like to avoid the games. Is this possible? I've never been inside this restaurant.

The only way to avoid having your kids see the arcade would be if you sat outside to eat and if they didn't go inside to order with you. There is a lot of seating upstairs, but you walk right through the arcade to get there. I usually let them pick 1 game to play or say do you want to play a game or get a souvenier? They usually want the souvenier. Good luck.

Will they have their own spending $$$? If so, just let them know ahead of time that that's one of their choices, but something you'll not pay for.

Maybe it's just that I never went for arcade games, but as a kid, I would have never wanted to spend time playing a game when I could be moving on to the next ride. Maybe you could use the logic that games are something we have at home, and this is a trip to do something special.

I agree. We ate there 2 weeks ago and sat upstairs. Kids watched the arcade, so I got change for a dollar and told them that was it - we're going to see the Muppets next. It's right across from the restaurant, so that was a good motivator.

I'd eat there...walk them past the arcade...comment on how fun the games look...wait for them to ask to play...and then say NOOOO!....lol

Of course I'm kidding. Just say no games, kids are normally okay with no if they know you mean business :)

How is the food ?? and how much are the arcade games there ??

thanks !

Pizza is Disney standard - i.e., Kids like it, but wouldn't stand on its own as a pizza place in the outside world. Side salads are fresh lettuce with a couple cherry tomatoes. Desserts - cookies are big (my kids split one) and the standard Mickey Rice Krispie treats travel well.

Arcade games appeared to cost same as standard arcades - 1-2 quarters depending on the game. My kids don't do video games much, so I didn't check those. No tokens to deal with, no tickets spitting out to get worthless prizes, so less incentive for the kids to play forever. Thanks for that, Disney! :thumbsup2

As others have said, you might want to prepare them before you walk in that they can not play games or can only spend a certain amount. I was unprepared for this on our first trip and my sons really complained the entire meal! But he was only 3 at the time and loved Toy Story and he was so excited to see all the claw machines. Some of the CLAW machines cost $1.

Last year we ate outside and they never asked to play games. We like the pizza and I'm always happy when the boys are eating food that isn't fried. :goodvibes It seems like most of their counter service meals end up being fried. :guilty:

we think the food is ok,probably good food for kids but it is not a place we definitely want to visit when we go to mgm.

I have the same technique...which would you rather have, play games or souvenier, they always pick the souvenier. My boys like sitting upstairs and watch everything going on in the arcade.

Any DDR machines at the arcade? I haven't played in a while & was wondering if Pizza Planet had them. TIA!

When my kids went there for the first time they were in awe. They loved being in the real Pizza Planet! We usually let them walk around and pretend to play the games as long as someone willing to pay for the game isn't waiting. I just told them that I think it's a waste of money. Of course my son doesn't agree but we tell them to hurry up and distract them with something else like the Muppets, Star Tours etc.
The food is okay. We are usually starving when we go there for lunch so we like the pizza. It's not so bad when your hungry!:)

Is there a lot of outside seating at this restaurant?

Yes, There are pretty many tables. It does get full. Depending on what time of the year you go, it is hot eating outside. the tables are in the open, there are a few under cover.
