Is the TSM queue still massive? I didn't get to go on it in August 2009 as it was brand new and the queue was several hours long and the Fastpasses ran out before I could rouse my family to action. Hoping it might have calmed down by the time I've saved for our next trip.

In a word no I wouldn't say it has calmed down at all! It's not usually Hours and hours but you will be looking at least at 50 minutes plus if you have to do standby, make sure you get there early to get Fast Passes as these run out very quickly too!

When I was there FPs were running out by about 11am.

We saw people trying, and failing, to get fastpasses for their group. When they asked for help from a cast member they were told that each of the ticket holders had to have come through the turnstiles for their tickets to work.
This prevents families sending one person into the park to get the fastpasses whilst the rest stay in bed!

And it stops people using expired tickets.

If want to ride twice then get to HS for rope drop and plan to get to TSM first thing. Grab a fastpass and then get in line.

If you only want to ride once then just make sure you get to TSM early to grab a fastpass (10-11am) as they go like hot cakes!.

TSM is the most popular attraction at HS by far! Followed by Rock'n'Roller Coaster and The Tower of Terror.

It was no better in early October. Non EMH day, no Fantasmic that night, we were there in good time for rope drop, yet the line for FP as well as the SB line snaked through the walkways. I took one look at this lot, and again said to DD: "Do you want to do this?" She asked if it would cost us our extra goes on RnR and I said yes. She looked at me and said "Not worth it. Waste of a morning for one short ride." My sentiments exactly. I don't think anything is worth that much trouble to be quite honest - not when it costs you the opportunity to walk onto the other headliners several times over. Just my opinion.

This is our familys favourite ride and we have rode several times. However this year when we got to the fastpass machines the return times at just after 10 am was for 6.30pm!!

The standby line said 80 minutes and the quietest we saw was 60 minutes!!!
That said Im not sure what else in HS would appeal to us all as a family as much as this ride does!!

On our make a wish trip we rode this ride so many times in a row that I actually remember the sequence of games and the phrases from each mini game (LOL)

Maybe when Startours reopens it will draw some of the crowds away from TSM?? Will have to wait and see!

We got some in January and our return time was 7.30pm (as it was a Fantasmic night) we used them and then decided to wait in the standby line, eventhough it was showing 140 minutes, the CM on the entrance said that they put extended times up at the end of the day to discourage people from joining the line as they want to get out and go home as quickly as they can, of course they don't shut the line entrance until park closing. The CM said it was around 35 minutes and it was dead on 35 minutes!

on Easter Sunday last year we wandered over at about 8pm, every visit the line had been outrageously long.

It said 40mins standby, we got in the queue - we were riding in 20 mins.

You can get another FP 2 hours after the 1st is issued.

We didnt get on it last August, it was only open for the 1st few days of our holiday and the queues were huge.

Is it like the buzz lightyear ride ?

Might have liked HS better if we had been able to ride it, I found myself wandering round with DS with nothing to do as the others wanted to go on TOT and he didnt.

I downloaded an app onto my phone over christmas that tells me the queue times for all the Disney rides,sad i know, i sit at home in Manchester looking at ride times! but anyway, between christmas and new year it said wait times were 100+ minutes, now its down a lot, 50+, but still one of the longest along with Soarin and Test Track.If your going peak holiday time it will be long for a while yet IMO

We noticed on our last trip that the timings outside TSM aren't always accurate.
We do the "arrive early, ride TSM, then get FP" or "arrive early, get FP, then ride", that way we always get to go at least twice. And with arrive early, I mean, front of the rope drop early!
But we've noticed that when we come back to ride with the FP (usually between 10 and 11am), that the sign will say 50 minutes wait. However when we go in, the line inside, isn't anywhere near that, more like 20 to 30 minutes. At that point we've switched lines, wasn't gonna waste my FP if there was a short line. One day on our last trip (November) we managed to ride TSM 4 times by 1pm, twice with a FP, twice just doing the line and never waited more 25 minutes even though outside it said 50 minutes.

Do you have the Undercover Tourist app? Just checked it and TSM is currently 100 min wait!

I actually really love Toy Story Mania, on paper it doesnt seem like much exciting but on it you get really sucked in and its a blast!

I did the whole early, front of the line rope drop and headed straight on to Toy Story Mania first. I saw a lot of people went straight to fast pass first and as they waited for that the stand by queue just got longer. anyway - doing it this way we pretty much walked on the ride.

After we got out, there was now about a 5 minute queue for fast pass, but i waited with everyones tickets as they grabbed a drink and pastry from the cart just outside and the fastpasses were for use just before lunchtime - so had time to go enjoy other things before another go on TSM!

I know rope drop doesnt always happen for everyone every-time, but doing it this way, for a ride known for its crazy queues - sooo stress free !

Im ashamed to say that my family weren't interested in rope drop on our last holiday - they're not early birds - even when I suggested how busy TSM might be...

We went from 17th - 31st December, and the wait time at one point was 180 minutes... I desperately wanted to ride, but I wasn't willing to waste 3 hours in the queue. It may have been less, but it was peak season, so I exected nothing less. Instead we did RnRC and ToT a couple of times as wait times were under an hour!
