Toy Story Mania - Wii

I just bought it today and was SUPPOSE to save it for Christmas. Well, my DH was home today and since his favorite ride at Disney is TSM, he just had to open it, he says he wants to practice for our trip in December :rotfl:. Our family had so much fun playing the different games. It really reminded us of the actual attraction at DHS. I give it a :thumbsup2:thumbsup2. :goodvibes

Purchased today and spent about 3 hours playing tonight. One hour with DS7, about 30-45 minutes by myself, and over an hour with DW. DS and I quickly racked up enough tickets to unlock the 3D games. They were the first thing I did after he went to bed.

I have to say that I am disappointed with the 3D. Of the 30+ games, only 6 unlockables are in 3D. We were playing on a 52" Sony. The regular games look fine. The 3D was blurry and the left (blue) lens of the glasses is so dark that it was hard to see through. I was excited about the 3D, so it is a little bit of a let down. However, the game is good enough to stand on its own without the 3D.

The games, much like the ride, are simple enough that anyone can play and enjoy it. Yet, finding the combinations and secrets to unlock high point targets makes it very competitive for advanced players.

Overall, we really like the game. We have been waiting for it to come out since it was first announced and are pleased with what it offers for the kids and adults. For the average person, it is probably a rental to be enjoyed for a couple of days before mastering most of the levels and beginning to lose interest. For the WDW fan, it is an absolute must.

A great warm up to the real thing!!! I got it today and played for about an hour, it was fun but my arm was getting tired.

BUT I get to go to the REAL THING on Saturday morning :banana:

We played it last night for about 2 hours -- I actually beat my hubby on several of the games! As for hitting the objectives -- it really helps to have more than one player to do some of these. The objectives are per team (on the team games), not per individual, so you can help each other get some of the special items. I may have to invest in two more controllers :lovestruc so we can all play together!

We bought it yeaterday while the kiddos were in school. DH and I played throught the whole story mode...loved it. When the kids got home, we all played together. We have 4 remotes, but you could get away with just 2 I think. It only lets 2 players at a time compete, and it seems to be a random pick of the 4 of us.

NOOOOOOOOO! DD has her Wii at college 1200 miles away!!!!!!!!!!:sad2: However, I guess that makes it easy to hold the game back as a Christmas gift/try and get a good price. DS is going NUTS that she tookthe system. He is more of a XBOX 360 fan, rarely played the Wii, but he's converted now!:rotfl2:

I got my copy - now I am debating to open it now, or wait for the holidays.

I think with all the kids / parents / friends wanting to play and only 2 controllers, I am going to have to setup a Fastpass machine beside the Wii to reserve a 30 minute period of playtime.
No Fastpass - No Play!!!

**I may have to setup a rope drop ceremony and then open the Fastpass Board**

Great theme, fun graphics, and easy to play.
If you are a Disney fan this is the perfect game.
Wife who doesn't play WII loved it.
Daughter how is just learing to work the controller loved it.

Unless I am in Disney or
Disney figures out a way to simulcast their rides to my TV this game will work!

Between this and Disney Think fast you can really help your Disney fix from time to time for sure. Disney Think Fast is still my family's favorite Disney type game for the wii or 360 but this one is pulling a close second .

And for those that don't yet have a Wii theres suppose to be a price cut to 199 next month......

I am giving it as a gift to my son and his family -- who loved the game - the kids are 3 and 5 and the 5 year old LOVED it -anyway I am making up a box with it and including a small spray bottle of water for effects and my some type of air burst thing...definitely going to include Fast passes somehow too LOL.

We played some today, and the thing that frustrates me is trying to figure out how to meet some of the "objectives" that you need to unlock the games so you can play without going through the whole "story" thing.

If anyone can figure out (1) how to launch 4 rockets at once in the rocket game, (2) shake out the bees in the balloon popping game, or (3) find (much less shoot) the pigs in the Hamm and Eggs game, please let me know. That's as far as we've gotten so far. There must be some tricks or cheats in play here.

I really like the shooting gallery games that are similar to the ones on the ride, but some of the others are pretty silly and simple. That's why I'd like to be able to get the gallery games unlocked to the free play mode. So far, we've only been able to get the "Rootin' Tootin'" game unlocked. For the others there's one objective we can't get.

I agree on some of the objectives - we had a very hard time figuring out the launching four rockets. we eventually got it - it may have something to do with waving the remote around when those arrows pop up.

we never did find a big flower to shake all of the bees out of, but i also think it has something to do with waving the remote around (because of the word SHAKE in the objective). we just racked up some tickets and then bought/unlocked the game that way.

and i agree with the other poster that was disappointed in the 3-D aspect. it was so bad, that it took us about five seconds to take our glasses off and say "This sucks".

but the game is completely awesome even without the 3d!!

DH is picking up a copy on his way home tonight. It's for my mom's 59th birthday this weekend. TSM was one of her favorite rides at DHS, even though the lines made it hard to ride it more than a few times. When we went to DCA in May, we rode it several times a day - gotta love that single rider line. She was in heaven.

I wonder if she would mind if I "tested" it before we give it to her on Sunday.

I had used the baby blue color for my color from the paint box. Huge error by design team.....Thye used the same color in Bo Peeps Game with the hot air balloons...couldn't see my target when pointed into the sky. Just took a guess at where it was and shot. My suggestion, don't use baby blue when playing her story. :goodvibes

For my kids TSM is a "must do" ride, so this will be in their stockings this year for Christmas. It might even have to be used by me beforehand, just to make sure it is appropriate for them ;):woohoo:

I don't know how Wii savvy your kids are, but keep in mind that whenever you play a game on the wii, you get a letter in your message center telling you how long you've been playing that game for. I believe it also sets up a save game location (with the name of the game) in the Wii's memory
If you forget about it, and you kids know where to look, that could actually ruin your Christmas surprise
