Toy Story Mania...Still Madness?

We were there Feb 23 -26 generally between noon and 4pm and the line was never listed as more than 20 minutes and it really moved fast. Waiting in line at Indy seemed longer.

This trip they had no single rider lines, like they did last year. Maybe they do that when the line gets up to over a hour.

They have officially removed the SR option sometime within the past year.

Rope drop story:

So, we always try to be at rope drop at DCA for TSMM.

Weekend before last was no different (except I was solo). On Saturday, I waited at the rope on the near the water fall on GRR on the path to the Pacific Wharf and Bug's Land. It had been raining, so the park wasn't that busy and there was maybe a 30 minute wait for TSMM at opening.

Fastforward to Sunday morning...I decided (in the interest of science), I would see what was on the other side of the mountain, so I took a right past, went past Soarin'...and hit the motherlode.

On this side there is a separate line dedicated to TSMM. About 10 minutes before opening, they started walking us down to Paradise Pier and we were in line at opening....maybe a 10 minute wait.

I'm not sure if this is done everyone day, but it's worth a try.

We went the Next day at Rope drop on Monday at stayed to the right by GRR. They kept us there until 10am. They did the same on Thursday.

I'm not sure what the trick is. I need to go back (for more scientific research :lmao:).

We also scored the early, escorted walk to TSMM one day (I think it was a weekend, but I don't remember for sure) I thought that worked very well. The CM's controlled the pace, people stayed calm, and it went very smoothly.

We were at rope drop last Friday, there was no escorted TSMM line, and our experience was quite different. The lines from both sides of the mountain hit the bridge at the same time, and it was pretty crazy! Many folks sent one runner (and I do mean runner) to hold a spot, then had the rest of the family/group jumping ropes, pushing past people, etc. to get in line. I think DCA could defintely have used more CM support to monitor the mad dash to TSMM that morning.

FWIW, we were right at the rope waiting for opening, but we did not run, so we ended up quite a ways back in the line and waited about 20 minutes to get on the ride.
