Assuming from your pic that you took this snap shot at 9:02pm then it is not accurate since the ride closed at 8:45pm for fireworks and would re open after they cleared the area of fallout for EMH
Probably a glitch of some sorts
Dont rely totally on the online posted wait times. On our last trip 7DMT kept showing 80-110 min waits but several times it was much shorter. Even posted at the ride at 50-65 minutes which turned out to be closer to what it really was.
Geez, I HOPE that was a glitch! I can't imagine waiting that long for any ride! I am amazed when I see 120min wait for say Peter Pan and I think, why would you waste 2 hours of your time in MK standing in a line, trying to keep your kids occupied, for Peter Pan? I don't get it. But that's me. Apparently it's worth it to many people as the line is consistently long like that.
We were at HS on Friday and it actually did show this wait time in the evening! We went on it earlier in the day and they suddenly stopped loading cars....our line didn't move for about 10 - 15 min and then it started up again. Our total wait time was about 40 min (didn't have a FP+ for it).
Our kids went back to the park to see the fireworks there in the evening. The park was open until at least 10:00 pm because the fireworks were at 9:45 pm that night. It was our last night at Disney. When they were there they saw the 300 min and sent us a quick phone update on it.
I'm sure it was a mistake but the ride did seem to be having issues earlier in the day. The park was also very crowded on Friday. We had not seen any other parks that crowded all week during our trip but since it was the start of a holiday weekend I expected larger crowds.
I was there on Friday and they had it at 300 minutes because the original two tracks were down. The new third track was the only one operational so they were only letting those with FPs on.
Two weeks ago on Friday it was also showing 300 minutes on the app, because the ride and the whole Pixar Alley are closed during the Star Wars fireworks. With extended magic hours in place, the ride opens again half an hour after the fireworks. But it seems the clock for counting the standby line is somehow confused by all this.
In the mean time guests are left to wait at the entrance of Voyage Of The Little Mermaid and when the Alley is clear are then escorted by a row of CM's towards the waiting line. It was quite an experience and security staff were obviously worried about pushing and running.
I was showing a 300 minute wait while I was there last Friday. the ride had closed for those without fast pass. only the new track was working and they were only letting those with fastpasses ride. I would think they were trying to keep people away but they were still coming.
