Toy Story Land Summer 2018

the other toy story land is in Tokyo correct? I was searching for info on it, but cannot find anything.

the video from the expo looked like that slinky coaster had a loop...y is Florida always getting the light version of a ride?
There are Toy Story lands in Hong Kong, Paris, and they are building one in Shanghai. The one in Florida is the best of the 4 as he other ones have very small kiddy rides while Florida is getting a coaster

Yes, my kids will love this land! They were 4 and 1 last time we went and DHS had very little they enjoyed. I think it will be a good addition for kids.

Both these rides will likely have height limits, so it's not going to be for the real little ones.

I was waiting for the announcement that the coaster will be "slinky"..... as in the graphic on the sign.... and was referenced in one if the early releases---

Still hoping.

The was the only bad announcement in my opinion. The land looks awful and so cheap.

Sadly I agree.

Honestly what they've showed us so far looks pretty weak. The landscaping looks boring too. It's like the value resorts with the big icons. That isn't appealing in the least. And the fact that this is coming in less than a year makes me even more worried that they're rushing it and not putting in as much detail. Pandora may have taken years to complete but based on all I've heard/seen it's the most immersive land in any theme park on the planet, with arguably the best ride ever.

I really hope this isn't some slapped together thing ala Dinoland (yeah yeah I know the story)... but I don't have high hopes right now.

This should be done early summer considering all buildings are vertical rn and the coaster track is all in place
Coaster track is not fully completed. Check the aerials thread new images were posted yesterday.

No Paris, and Hong Kong. Shanghai is getting one built right now as well. There will be a total of 4 when all is done. WDW's is different than all of the others though.

The signs are designed to look like toy packaging. I think it will look great once completed. Hopefully there are no delays and it'll be ready before my trip.
Yeah, you're supposed to believe that you've been shrunk down to toy size.

Which brings a thought to mind: since it looks like the entrance will be tunnel-like, wonder if they'll have some sort of shrink-down effect in there?

I guess there are several things that make this a tough sell for some Disney fans

1) The best ride "in" Toy Story Land isn't often mentioned in these updates and is rarely pictured -- the currently existing TSMM
2) Slinky is a minor coaster with a cute theme (Barnstormer).
3) The alien saucers are a dressed-up spinner that, minus the theme, you find at any carnival
4) The toy theme, while wholly appropriate, looks a little cheap (trying real hard not to summon images of DinoLand U.S.A.)
5) It badly needs one more ride or show because the "land" looks sooooo small!

I have kids in/near their teen years, so at first glance this amounts to the addition of a cute little coaster and a throwaway in a nicely themed garden behind a ride we already visit.

Not a fan of what I have seen so far, but I will certainly reserve judgement until I have seen it, it just seems like it is a missed opportunity for Toy Story, which could have really amazing original rides built around it. The Mater ride in DCA is fine, and will be fine with the alien theme, but it isn't even remotely original or interesting.

I think once we see it out of concept art and piles of dirt everyone will have a different opinion of it guess we will just have to see I'm excited either way Studios needs this

I think it looks great, it's a much needed and appreciated addition. Now kids have more to do at Hollywood than just lame shows.

Here's hoping they finally make it like a real park and connect the pathways. Daddy's too lazy and slightly out of shape to walk down Sunset Boulevard and back. That's like doing a marathon for my couch body.

As someone as old as Andy has been through the series, I am still very excited to see this land! If it is anything like the stand-by line as TSMM, I will be transported back to a time when I was a child and played all of these games. I cannot wait!

Am I the only one who thinks that the Slinky Coaster (in the concept art) looks waaaay too crazy and intense-looking to be considered a family coaster?
