I'm thinking of starting a collection of high-end rare Toy Story Collectibles. But as far as I can tell, compared to a lot of other Disney titles, there is very little out there that is rare, limited edition, quality/impressive type of stuff?!

The only thing I've run across that looks appealing is the Sketchbook which I think sells on Ebay for about $200.

I'm also not sure if I will expand into Toy Story 2. As the original, is well, the original and the collectibles for the original movie I would think are always going to be more desireable. However maybe we have an exception here for two reasons, 1) Toy Story 2 was just as good of a movie if not maybe even better, and 2) The movie's storyline incorporated of all things, collectibles!

But even so, did Disney come out with some limited edition Stinky Pete Prospector Doll in the box just like the movie? Well yes, they made one, it IS a Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDCC) piece, but it is an open edition and sells for a measly $75-$99 on Ebay. Then there's the Round-up Collection of of action figures (all came in one box) that sells for close to $80 but that is an even more mass-produced than the WDCC pieces - a Toy-R-Us gazillion made type item.

No Limited Edition Buzz Lightyear Big Fig? Of course no original hand painted cels since that's only from the old days. I guess the only thing out there is really that once in a blue moon you'll see an auction for some piece of original production art from the making of the movie, very rarely. And it's usually just some sketch, nothing overly impressive.

The only other thing I've found floating around is the Giclee print of Buzz and Woody flying. It's an LE 350. There other movies done in this same Art Paper Print series. But about $180 is as high as they go for on E-bay which means people don't consider them that impressive or rare. I suppose the sketchbook, the WDCC pieces and this Giclee LE350 print is about all that is out there (aside from rare one of a kind original art which you virtually never see.)

Am I missing something here? I want to really cool, preferably very limited Toy Story collectibles and it appears Disney didn't really make much of anything in that realm?!
