Hi!! I bought a budget sheet cake at Cosco for my dd's 2nd bday...and they have just generic decorations/writing on their cakes, you cannot special order them with theme like TS...so I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could get some small TS toys to go on top of her cake at a budget price? Of course, for 18 bucks, a WHOLE sheet cake that is of, imo, gourmet quality...I got a deal :)

I would head to a place like Party City and see what they might have.

I know Sam's club actually carries Toy Story cakes, but since you have already bought one, I would try to find toppers at a Party Store.

the Action Links Toy Story toys. (Walmart, Target, Kmart...) They would be the perfect size for a cake and then you can keep them for playing. Also, if you have a Disney Store nearby you could buy their figurine set.

Thanks!! I will try a party store here, I have a 20% off total purchase coupon...no Disney Store here, closest one is Minneapolis...4 hours away!! :(

They may have them at Dollar Tree, that is where I got my ds Toystory cake toppers last October :)

Disney store. I bought the playset of Disney princesses for $10, down from 12.99. They come in a set of like 7 or 8 characters, and I think I saw TS ones there. DD wanted Jasmine cake; so I bought my cake from Sam's club, then set the princesses on top. Looked great. :thumbsup2

We recently just saw a bunch of cake decorations (princess, mickey, etc.) at walmart in the party supply department.

Will they do a photo cake? You could find a Toy Story themed picture and have them use that to make the picture thing they put on the picture cake.

If Costco doesn't do picture cakes, have Costco leave the cake plain (white frosting and whatever color piping you want around the edge) then go somewhere else and buy the picture thing. My friend always makes her own cake and the bakery at the local grocery store that does photo cakes puts her picture on the thing for the cake for just a couple of bucks. (I hope this makes sense)

Otherwise go to Walmart of something and buy a few small Toy Story figurines and put them on the cake (I've used Hotwheels and Thomas trains on cakes before)

I usually find my cake toppers at A.C. Moore (I'm not sure where you're located-if they have one near you). I also use the 40% coupon that is in the paper every week.

This is what we've done, either the pictures or we use toys the kids already have. Either clean them up good and put them on the cake or we'll decorate the cake nice and they put their toys around the cake. DS's are younger so this makes them happy!
