Has anyone made a "movie ticket" invitation for Toy Story before?
We are taking my son and his friends to see Toy Story 3 for his 6th birthday party.
I'd like an invitation that looks like a movie ticket with the info on it and the Toy Story characters.
Does anyone have any ideas or have anything similar that they have already done?

Thanks in advance!

I have designed several tickets for birthday parties and would be happy to attempt something for you. Is he a woody or buzz fan or does he like both? Also are there any specific colors you would like used? Also, what is his name?

Dolly - Thank you!

He loves both characters and the green army men! He's just so excited about getting to see the movie.

I thought about doing the ticket is a 2"x6" or 3"x7" size (but keep in mind that I am not creative AT ALL!!).

As for colors, red, yellow, green, blue all will look great.
I thought about having the pictures of the characters at the top and then saying "Caden is turning 6" written over it somewhere. Then have the party info below it (but I think I can put all the party info in using photoshop).

What do you think? You are much more creative than I am so whatever you think will look good will be fine!

Again, thank you for your help!!

I made the ticket and you can find it in my 4shared file in the link in my signature. Then look in the blank invitation file. I made it 4x9 as that is a perfect size for regular business envelopes and you can print two on a regular 8.5x11 sheet of card stock paper. You can change the size if you want it smaller.

When I make tickets, I love to add another sheet with a coordinating solid color cardstock on the back as it makes the invite extra thick and looks nice. Michaels has shimmery cardstock that looks great as the backside!

I have one example so that you will know how I would add party information to the invite. Where the seat, row, section is...put his date of birth just for something fun!

Hope it is what you were wanting!

If you like the invitation...do you want some fun favors to match?

You may already have favors and not need anything, but if you do want some...here are a few fun suggestions for movie parties. First, go check at Target in the dollar isle and see if they have the red and white popcorn holders. They often have them available and they are only $1.00 each and super cute. Then you can either use them to hold favors or you can buy one super size popcorn tub at the movies and use them so that each child has their own popcorn...then they can take them home as well. You will have to take a large purse to get them into the theater. I have also seen them at some of the dollar stores.

Another cute favor is individual microwave popcorn bags with a "party" wrapper around it...similar to candy bar wrappers. Or a red and white popcorn pouch (I have one in my 4shared file in the candy wrapper" file then "miscellaneouse wrapper" file with blank boxes on it for personalization. You will need to print a front and back to the pouch. Use the tabs and double sided tape to contect the sides and bottoms together. Then the individual packet of popcorn slides inside the top.) If you were willing to hand deliver the invites...this would also be cute to give with the popcorn and "ticket" tucked inside.

You could do baggy toppers and fill the bags with fun "movie" style candy to pass out during the movie when the kids get restless, or even buy the boxes of candy at Walmart for $1.00 and make a wrapper for them.

Finally, you could do the ever popular candy bar wrapper. I have a movie candy bar wrapper in my 4shared file (which matches the microwave candy pouch that I mentioned earlier) I or if you wanted...I could make a toy story wrapper.

To save a little money as food is way overpriced at the theaters...take an extra large purse with juice boxes for drinks for the party. Or take cups in your purse and buy a couple of super sized drinks (with the extra large popcorn :goodvibes) and pour them into the individual cups to pass out. If you decide to go this route...find cups with lids as drinks always seem to get spilled at the movies.

Just some fun ideas if you needed them.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I love it! Seriously, it is so much cuter than I could have imagined.

I love the idea of the popcorn wrappers and candy bar wrappers.
Could you do the wrappers to match the tickets.

Also, I'm pm'ing you as well to see where I can send you a thank you gift!

Thanks!

I made the candy bar wrapper and a popcorn pouch for you. They are both in my 4shared file in the "candy wrapper" file and then the "candy bar wrapper" and "miscellaneous wrapper" subfiles. Your wrappers are the "example" with Caden's name on them.

The candy bar wrapper is 5.25 x 5.5 inches and fits around a hershey milk chocolate bar. The best paper to print these on is glossy brochure paper but regular or cardstock work as well. Once you cut the wrapper out, match the bottom of the floor to the bottom of the front side of the candy bar and wrap the rest around the backside of the candy bar. So the back will all be the blue wallpaper and the front will be the floor, characters and some of the wallpaper. Hope that makes sense.

The popcorn pouch should be printed on cardstock paper. You will need to print the front and pack for each pouch. I don't know what the best size is for these as I have never made them, so you may have to do a few trial prints using black ink and "fast draft" to save on ink until you get the right size. (Orville Redenbacker has individual microwave popcorn bags that will probably work best.) Once they are printed, cut around the outside black lines for the front and back. Score and fold the two tabs on the front and the single tab on the back. Then use double sided tape to attach the front and back together. Hope that makes sense!

If you need anything else...let me know.

Again, thank you! These are incredible. I really appreciate them.
Caden LOVES them all!!!

What amazing ideas you have!! I'm going to use the red & white popcorn holders for my daughter's movie birthday party (the new shrek movie). Then I'll have some stuff wrapped up in a cellaphone bag that I can place in their popcorn holders to bring home with them. Thanks! :goodvibes

Hey, would you have any bowling ideas? My son wants a bowling birthday party and I have been trying to get get disney bowling clipart together to make an invite, but wow - it's hard finding anything.

Here is a link to my all time favorite place for party ideas...I'm sure you will find lots of great ideas!

I would definitely suggest getting balloons and placing the balloons on your lane(s) table(s) so that it is evident to everyone where your son's party is and it makes it more festive! The most inexpensive place for mylar balloons is at the Dollar Tree which sells them with helium for $1.00.

Here is one bowling game that I found on that website that sounds like fun:
The children played one round of bowling the regular way. Then the second game got much more fun. Before they bowled they had to put their hand in a colored bag with Scooby's (it could be Disney characters if you choose to go with a disney theme) picture on it and pick out a piece of paper. On the paper it told the child how to bowl - for instance - "bowl backwards say I am the best bowler in the world" or "bowl criss cross applesauce" "sing happy birthday to Colin or it asks questions they have to answer about Scooby Doo (Disney Characters). The kids loved it. Sometimes it would say to do or say something and if you do it, you get a prize (all kids eventually got a prize). This was a lot of fun and made it different and very funny. We then presented medals (gotten from the dollar store 5 for $1)to all of the children for a job well done. This was just one example of the great ideas you will find on that site.

This would be a good time to make t-shirts and give them as favors as they will easily help you to keep track of everyone at the party if you use a bright colored shirt. You can find them at Hobby Lobby or Michaels on sale from time to time for $2.00 a t-shirt.

Hope that helps!
