I believe I read in a thread on one of the boards that the FAO Schwarz at the Pointe shopping centre has closed.

Please can anyone confirm and, if so suggest a good alternative for us to visit. We are particularly interested in Fisher Price Little People toys. (They seem to be half the price in the US!)

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo

I believe that the FAO Schwarz has closed. I am not sure of any other "major" toy shops, but I know that Walmart have an excellent selection of toys (I am sure they had Fisherprice) at a fraction of the price. I got my nephew loads of spiderman stuff last year that were all $5 and under, I have since seen the same things in Woolworths for between £12-£15! I also got loads of Disney Princess stuff really cheap there too. Just one option for you, I am sure someone will be along with many more!

Hello Jo,

Yes FAO Schwartz went bust I believe :(

Most malls we visited had a toy store in them - I can't remember where the following were (sorry :() but we liked KB Toys and Liqudator Toys. We found the stuff we wanted at about half the price they are here. I have heard recently though that KB Toys are verging on liquidation :(

Walmart is also good.

Yes. FAO Schwartz has closed :(

Try KB Toys in Premium Outlets & Belz and Toys R Us near teh Florida Mall :teeth:

Toys R Us at Florida Mall as already mentioned, in the Mall there are several toy stores, one of which is a huge PlayMobile store.

Gutted about FAO, that was one of 'our' things to do, always had a session in there treating ourselves.

Thanks Guys for your suggestions

Bit gutted as I was looking forward to having the FAO 'Experience' but I'm sure we'll manage to spend just as much money somewhere else!

Jo

Don't forget Target, on the US 192 - they have a great selection of toys - I think better and cheaper than Wal*Mart.

We also like KB toys in the malls - we got stacks of stuff there last year - all at a fraction of the UK cost.

Was not a huge fan of FAO - the toys were always much more expensive than in Wal*Mart or Target.

There is one on West Colonial Drive just passed its junction with Apopka Vineland and there is also one opposite to Mall at Millenia on Conroy Road.

Target on the 192 is near the Osceola Square Mall...
travellling east from WalMart, just beyond N Hoagland Blvd, on the left. It is quite easy to miss....look out for the red and white 'target'

Here is a map link

Target

We LOVE Target..........
