Does anyone know how much the toy monorail sold at WDW costs? Does anyone have it? I am thinking about getting one to put around my xmas tree next year. I heard that you can buy replicas of the resorts, epcot ball, etc. Are they expensive?
We bought the talking monorail fridge magnet last year in Epcot. I listen to it everyday and it makes me smile. "Please stay clear of the doors - Please hold onto the handrails" it is great. I think it cost $7.00.
I bought the monorail set in 2003. I have 2 little guys who just love the monorail. It's not set up all the time, but it is often enough for them to enjoy the heck out of it!! I hoping to get the Contemporary Hotel when we go down in May!
Oh, and the monorail does the spiel also "Please stand clear of the doors!" I just love listening to it myself. They do play with the monorail cars all the time.
My four-year-old son got the monorail/track and the Contemporary for Christmas and loves it. He is a very careful little boy and has not had any problem with using it. The pieces are pretty expensive (in my opinion) with the initial monorail set costing $60 and the Contemporary somewhere around $50. Luckily Grandma and Grandpa work at Disney and get a great discount at the holidays!
Downtown Disney has a complete monorail set with all of the pieces displayed. It's fun to just go watch it!
We have 2 Monorails under the tree with the Switching station that you can program to say different things as the train rolls over it. We also have the GF and Spaceship Earth. DH bought on our last trip the signs for the monorail resorts, trees, dumbo, and the teacups which are activated when a train rolls over a switch. We also have the Haunted Mansion.
We have had a lot of problems with Monorail Yellow and returned it a few times.
I have monorail red around my tree. I had to buy 2 extra sets of track at 10/each to fit around my tree. I want to say the monorail is about 60-70 bucks. I also have spaceship earth, the poly, grand flordian, and the contemporary.
I also just this year bought the signs for it too. It has a poly sign, contemporary, GF a sign like the street signs that say the 3 hotels and the arrow straight ahead. Then it also has the WDW sign as you enter property.
