Ok-I have been at this for a while now...
Rental cars--from MCO 6-13 5:30p to 6-17 5:30p cheapest is 166 for a mid suv. Add 33 roughly for parking fees at dolphin... about 200.
Towncar-not sure which to go with FL Tours, Tiffany? About 90-109 don't have to bother with parking fees.

We usually take a car to DTD and sometimes a park or two etc...not sure if we will miss that luxury and have to rely on Disney busses the whole time. We are within walking distance to EPCOT and DHS--so we'd only have to worry about MK.

Also, we are accustomed to going to Target for our stop on the way...would the towncar do this?

Any suggestions?

TIA.

I would suggest you ask the car service company if they will stop by Target. There are some companies that will do it, but most companies might consider it out of the way. That is part of what is considered customer service. The Target is just off 417 so would be no problem.

Since 2002 we've stayed at Swan, Dolphin or BoardWalk every year, twice in 2007 and we've used Tiffany Towncar each time. They stop at Publix for groceries on the way in, the fee is $95 RT plus tip and we haven't missed having a car at hand at all. I'm not a public transportation kind of guy, but we're totally satisfied with Disney busses, boats and monorail.

It depends on what you plan on doing. There are three reason's we rent.

1) We eat dinner at other resorts, Narcoosee's and Boma, come to mind. To go directly home after dinner saves a tremendous amount of travel time.

2) We have PAP and go 2-4 times a trip depending on the weather to the waterparks. Disney transportation is just awful to the water parks. December my sister waited 50 minutes at the Dolphin before giving up at taking a taxi. Years ago it took 1 1/2 hours from the GF.

3) If I want to go to Soarin' first thing at Epcot we drive to the front of the park. Coming from the IG will get you in line behind EVERYONE else coming from the front of the park. For awhile, they were giving the IG entrants a 5-10 minute head start but that hasn't happed the last three trips.
