Hi ... we're heading to OKW in April, and are considering trying JetBlue out of Logan. We live not too far from Manchester, but the only direct flights are on SW and we're not sure about the non-assigned seating thing.

Does anybody have suggestions for limo/towncar that serves southern NH to Logan? We absolutely dread driving into Boston and parking at Logan, and would rather spend the $$$ on a car service instead of parking.

Thanks!!

Have you considered one of the park and fly hotels in the area? We were going to use the Holiday Inn at Logan. I think it was around $150. You stay overnight, then leave your car there for up to 2 weeks (maybe a little less) and you take one of the shuttles from the hotel to Logan. If you have an early flight it might work for you. We are only about 40 minutes away and dh really didn't want to spend the night in Boston, so we are using Knight's airport transportation. But we're in central ma so that doesn't help you.

Hi-we are from Hooksett NH and we fly SW direct all the time to Disney. I would never go to Logan when I could fly from Manchester. The newest thing SW has is that at 12:01am the day of your flight you can go online and print out your boarding passes. That way you don't have to arrive so early for your flight and you will get an A boarding pass or worst case a B pass. If you are in the Aor B groups, you will definately all sit together. Check out SW website, they can explain it all better than I can. The best part is your in Orlando in less than 3 hours!!!Good Luck:Pinkbounc

I would love to try the SW route ... my sister does it every time and swears by it. My dh, though, is a picky traveler and insists on aisle seating, exit row (which we won't get with kids anyway, but he doesn't see that) bla bla bla. He's pretty obsessive about it. I just really hate Logan airport, even if we don't have to drive there and park and all. Yuk.

But who cares? Either way we will be taking our first trip to Disney with the kids!!! :teeth:

You could drive down 93S and use Logan Express in Woburn, right off Commerce Way exit. It is a very efficient way of going into Logan. There is a fenced-in secured area to leave your car, hop right on the Express which will bring you right to the airline terminal you are leaving out of. We use Logan Express when we fly out of Logan. I think it's about $7-8 a day to park. Go to the Massport website and you'll get all the info on the Logan Express. We flew JetBlue to Orlando in April and really had a great experience. We are using them again when we go back at the end of Dec.

I'm originally from just outside of Manchester, so my family LOVES the convenience of MHT. It's become such a nice airport. We always fly Southwest... cheap fares, great service... it works for us. We can usually get fares for $49-$59 each way, non-stop.

I personally like the open seating because I get to choose my seat... when I'm flying alone, it reduces the chance of someone in the middle seat (one time, I had the entire row to myself). When I'm flying with family, we always sit together. (On airlines with assigned seating, we always got split. Ironic, eh?)

I'll second the Logan Express motion here. We have friends who will drive west from Needham to Framingham to take it, since it is so much easier than driving in to Logan. (of course my house i sall of 15 miles away, so my Sister usually drives us in using our car, so she has a spare for the week). I believe the Woburn location is easy to get to, it's cheap and it's easy, three big advantages.

Good luck and have a great time at OKW.

This sounds like something we might be able to use if we fly Jetblue out of Logan in Feb. Can you tell me what the procedure is for returning to the Express lot? Do you call them when your flight lands and they come get you or are they waiting at the airport already...?? Thanks for any information!

Once you pick up your baggage, you just go outside the terminal and there are Logan Express bus stops. Just wait at the marked stop for the Woburn bus, board and off you go back to Woburn to get your car. I believe they run every 1/2 on peak times, then every hour at other times. Again, go into the Massport website and click on Logan Express. It will give you all the info you need, parking fee, schedules, etc. Believe me, it is very easy to use and I wouldn't go into Logan any other way.

I've been looking into the same thing, and haven't had much luck (I'm in central NH).

I just wanted to note that you should check prices on
www.flysong.com also. We used to fly SW from MHT but the past couple of years have found prices to bee too high for the N/S flight we wanted. Last year we tried JetBlue from BOS and had a good experience. This time (Jan '05), Song was the best priced and we got the flight times we wanted ($517 for the 4 of us, non-stop both ways). This will be our first time on Song, but the reviews seem to be good.

FYI - I don't know your flight times, but last year we were able to use Concord Trailways bus to get to Logan from Concord NH (also stopped in Manchester). Parking at the bus station was free and roundtrip bus was about $30. This year the bus schedule doesn't work with our flight schedule, so we'll probably go with Logan Express.

Another option is to drive to Portsmouth and take C&J, another bus line like Logan Express that has direct service to Logan. My BIL is a flight attendant for United, lives in southern Maine, and takes C&J all the time. I'd probably do this rather than drive to Woburn- the traffic on 93 can be a nightmare, depending on the time of day! With both these services, you want to check and see what time their last bus runs...you'd hate to be stuck in Boston if your return flight is late! With C&J, you go outside the terminal at Logan and look for their bus. You should probably check both C&J and Logan Express schedules before deciding...I think both have websites.
We flew SW out of MHT in June and it was OK, although I prefer to park at the airport than in one of the local hotels (the nearest to the airport charges by the day, not the 24 hour period, so you end up paying for an extra day). Also, unless it's been changed since June, it's not that easy to get a boarding pass on=line. In June, you could only do that for a single party; if there was more than one person on the itinerary, forget it. SW will "break up" your itinerary into separate reservations but they won't let kids "fly alone", so if there are kids involved, on-line boarding passes won't work either. Leaving MHT wasn't a problem; we arrived ~1hour before our flight an got "B" passes, but we queued up immediately so we were at the front of the "B" line and the 3 of us were seated together. However, leaving out of MCO was a disaster! We were at the airport 2.25 hours ahead of time and the line for check-in was enormous! We barely made our flight, literally running thru the airport, and DD (10) ended up sitting in a row with strangers. After take off people moved around so DD could sit with me, but upon boarding SW stuck her in the 1st available seat so that they could depart on-time. It was OK, but what if she'd been 5 instead of 10?

Aren't there services that will pick you up at home and deliver you to the airport terminal? Maybe they are expensive, I don't know -- but I would prefer to just leave the car home in the garage rather than parking it at a bus station or airport.

Have you used them before? Would you recommend?

Nope, never used them, they are just local and I know they do what you want. You can get there # if you go to the Manchester NH airport website and click on ground transportation. Good Luck:)
