HI GUYS,

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF A GOOD TOWNCAR SERVICE? I WILL BE GOING FROM ORLANDO AIRPORT TO GRAND FLORIDIAN. I COULD USE MAGIC EXPRESS BUT I REALLY DON'T WANT TO RISK WAITING HOURS FOR MY LUGGAGE. THANKS FOR THE HELP.:santa:

We've used Sunray with great success, very clean, professional, good rates and they do a 1/2 hour grocery stop, must tell them ahead of time. Get google sunray transportation for a web site.

Tiffany Towncar- They pick you up at the luggage area are very quick and clean. Its around $50.00 or so... and if you want to stop at the supermarket before going to your hotel they will (for free) You can also book online and they should have some kind of coupon available (tiffanytowncars .com) OR
Mears also has towncars & they have a website too... mearstransportation. com

You have the option of going to baggage claim and getting your bags like normal, then bringing them to your DME bus. The driver will load them under the bus, and will unload them for you when you arrive at your resort; you will have custody of your luggage as soon as you arrive at Grand Floridian. You will delay yourself at baggage claim (just as you would if you use a car service), but after that point the bags will be under your control and you won't have to wait for them.

This way, you wouldn't need to pay for a ride to your resort.

If you do it this way, make sure you DON'T put the DME luggage tags on your bags. All checked luggage with DME tags gets pulled before the bags make it to baggage claim. In other words, you won't be able to claim them yourself if you put the DME tags on them.

DME-tagged bags get pulled behind-the-scenes at the airport, then are taken to Disney's luggage sorting facility on the airport grounds, and from there are transported by truck to the resorts. As explained earlier, if you DON'T tag your bags, they will never enter that luggage delivery system, and instead will be under your bus.

Personally, I LOVE the luggage delivery feature of DME. No matter where I fly, I always pack for my first 24 hours' needs in my carry-on just in case the AIRLINE delays my luggage ... it's my version of "flight insurance." Because of this, it doesn't bother me at all to expect my bags within 3 hours of my arrival at my resort.

Yes, yes, yes! We LOVE Sunray Transportation (used them twice this year). . .very professional, on time, courteous and their vehicles are always immaculate and comfy. I always fee like a VIP when using them and highly recommend them. :teeth:

I second Tiffany's.

We use Happy Limo. We have had nothing but good experiences with them. As a matter of fact, I will be calling later today to set up our pick-up on December 11!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

I know Star Transportation is also recommended amongst those of spoken with, however, I've always preferred DME.

We do not fly but use Amtrak to Kissimmee station but if we did fly, waiting for our luggage to arrive at the resrt room would be a major pain, and we don't like packing a carry on for one days use. We would still prefer the car service. We've used the private and public cabs in Kissimmee a few times but they are not clean nor prompt and few know where the Kissimmee Amtrak station is, go figure, so we hooked up with Sunray because of great posts, plus the grocery stop and price. Some car companies do not pick up in Kissimmee and we do not like detraining and boarding in Orlando.

We do not need a car in WDW, never have nor wiil, but we like to have our staples and libations in our room and renting a cab or car to get to a grocery store would negate the grocery savings and we do not want to use a delivery service, using Sunray was the ticket. Stopped at a Publix in route with an alcohol store next door, fast and easy, we got all our supplies. We also like the way Sunray handled our trip, e-mails before, we checked with them enroute since we would be arriving 3 1/2 hours late, and dropping us off at the resort they gave us a card with contact info in case our plans changed or we needed them for anything else. On pick up day they were 15 minutes early and got us back to Kissimmee in great time to catch our train.

Again, kudos to Sunray in the professional way they handle their customers, clean vehicle, waiting at depot with our sign card, vehicle running to keep interior cool, retreiving all our luggage for baggage car, just A1 all the way. We'll be using them again this January WDW trip and will always praise them when an opportunity arises on these boards.

We've only used Tiffany's, and for the most part it has been EXCELLENT. Summer 06 we had to wait about 45 minutes for them to show up, and naturally we were very upset, but they made it right with us, and when they picked us up they were right on time.

I agree with CleveRocks, you handle your own luggage and don't have to shell out 50 or so bucks. But if you do it this way rember to tip the bus driver for handling your luggage (still cheaper than paying for a car service).

Florida Town car service... ask for Ken we have been using him since 1995! They are great and dependable!

We've used Tiffany several times ...to WDW and the cruise. Wonderful service! Would highly recommend.

Anyone used Florida Tours service???

Yes, we've used them twice with no problems. The first time, we were stuck on the plane at MCO in a thunderstorm - they wouldn't let us off the plane because the ground crew wasn't allowed onto the tarmac to connect the plane to the gate! Stuck for 45 minutes - very frustrating!

FL Tours was very accommodating - luckily we had cell phones and called them to inform them of the delay. They were great, and didn't even cancel our grocery store stop (which they could have, because of the delay!).

Just back last night & used Sunray - EXCELLENT service. We always used Tiffany in the past but twice they were late so I asked around on the boards for recommendations of who to switch to. Sunray had the best comments hands down & I can see why. Also someone on here said Tiffany is $50 - that's each way - round trip will be around $110 or $115. Sunray was only $82 with The Mouse For Less Discount ($90 regular). We had a flight change 30 min. prior to Sunray picking us up. I called & they hustled & got to us early & got us to the airport on time. Very courteous, very clean SUV & very responsible drivers. I have to say that each time we took Tiffany we felt like we were in a race on the highway, and the drivers were on their cell phones the whole time. Sunray got us there safely & legally, and they chatted with my son & I. I will not hesitate to use Sunray again!
