Who do you like to use for a town car? Last year we used Happy Limo. The service was good. We didn't use the grocery stop. This year we have to have the grocery stop. We have rental car reservations for our arrival and departure days but are thinking of a town car now. My husband is a horrible navigator and I'm not sure if I want the stress of making sure I don't miss any tolls or necessary roads. He isn't old enough to drive the car so that is out. I don't want our trip to start out on a stressful note.

We aren't opposed to using Happy Limo again for this trip. I'm looking for suggestions and any possible discounts. Any money I can save is great! That gives me some extra spending money!

Thank you for your help!!!

Me too. We have used three different towncar services and have had bad experiences with all, so are looking for a new one this time ... January 2010. Used the same one the last two trips (2007 & 2009) and both times we had a driver who could not find a grocery store; he had to use his GPS and then took us to places that didn't sell what we wanted (beer & water);wasted a lot of time and made us feel unsafe. We could have told him exactly where to go, but he said "no problem" ... time is money when you are in disney!

I love using a towncar. In fact, it is hard to go back to using Magical Express now. For me, I like how fast it is and how mindless it is. We can't rent a car because my dh and I always end up fighting over directions. The towncar allows us to relax, but get to the hotel quickly. We use tiffany towncar and have been very happy with the company.

Thanks TAKitty!

We were doing the car rental but now as it gets closer we see that it will be easier to use a town car.

Toadi would you mind saying who you had bad experiences with? Which stores didn't sell water? Or were you looking for a specific brand of water? I want Aquafina. I don't want to have issues finding a grocery store.

sorry, it wasn't that they didn't sell water ... they only had very limited brands of beers, like two, and not the two domestic ones we like, and didn't have water in gallon containers ... I think he took us to a drugstore, like Walgreens or something ... I hesitate to name the company because they are a sponsor and I'd hate to get flamed ... we get uncomfortable when the driver doesn't know where he is going ... especially when we know Goodings at the Crossroads is so close and open ... we used to rent cars, so we know a bit about the area and what is close

Thank you Toadi! I understand. We don't want to stop at a Walgreens because I need some stuff from the grocery store.

Nobody will get 'flamed' for giving honest opinions or experiences. I will say that I had a similar issue with FL Tours....we arrived on Thanksgiving Day and really needed to stop at a store to grab a few things. I checked at least 3 times to make sure they would make the stop on Thanksgiving Day. I was reassurred that it wouldn't be an issue. We arrived at MCO about 11am and when we got into our towncar, we were told that no groceries stores were open!!! I asked if a convenience store was a possibility..nope, couldn't do it, they were all closed. I was more than a bit miffed. I had been told, several times, that stopping wasn't going to be an issue. I have a feeling that it was the driver's choice to not stop...I doubt that the person I emailed about stopping lied to me.
I have been told that this company has gotten their act together and is offering good service again...but I don't have personal experience with that.

We have used Tiffany Towncar many times over the years (most recently on the 5th) and always had good experiences. They were even great the year our "day before Thanksgiving" flight kept getting further and further delayed and finally turned into us arriving on Thanksgiving around midday. The driver was as nice as she could be and I am sure she was missing family time while she picked us up the day late. TO the poster above, this was many years ago (before ME) but I know we stopped for groceries that trip--so someone used to be open;) I think it may have been a larger walgreens type place that had english muffins and the like and not a full scale grocery store though.

We tried Happy Limo once and had a terrible experience, which I will not get into as I have detailed on these boards before. Follow-up from corporate was useless as well so we did not decide to hope it was a one bad thing and try again. We went back to Tiffany and have not tried anyone else since.

The one I really prefer I'm not allowed to mention here. But, allears.net used to advertise them - don't know if they do anymore. I like that they are so professional, and very nice and clean. I think I used Tiffany once, but wasn't impressed. I don't like to use ME, tried it once.

We use one that advertises on mouseforless.com. They usually have a discount coupon. Right now, I believe it's for $10 off. The cars are clean and the drivers are very friendly and always on time. We're planning on using them again for our trip in May.

Just used Tiffany Towncar dec. 9th to 16th. Our driver was Jack.He was super nice and helped with the luggage as dh was pushing me in the wheelchair. We did a stop at the hess mini mart just for some drinks. It was well worth the money we spent. My dh doesnt like the magical express and we had enough to deal with etc.

We have used Happy and Tiffany. Both times we had good experiences from MCO to WDW but not so great on the return. For the last several trips, we have used a service that can no longer be named on the dis (due to board violations, not anything to do with their business). Have had excellent service each time. I see they offer a discount on mouseforless.

Thank you Ohiotinkfan ... I have no idea why that company's name cannot be mentioned, but will consider. We have used Tiffany twice; didn't show up for a pickup and had to call. Tried Murray Hill which was fine until a no show very early one morning; luckily found a cab and got to MCO just in time. Trouble twice w/FL; late arriving at MCO; had to call and then could not find the grocery. Hoping to have no hassles

There are several that advertise on that site....and there are some that have been banned from discussion on these boards. Be aware that it is against board guidelines to try to circumvent the word filters. The board owners have mandated that two towncar companies are not to be discussed. This was not due to bad service but due to each companies behaviour on these boards. Any further discussion about banned companies will result in post deletion and infraction points being given.

Thank you all for your help and honest opinions! I greatly appreciate that.

I'm afraid I made my reservation with the wrong company and will have to change it tomorrow. I made it before checking back in here.

Sounds like we should go with Tiffany from all of your positive and recent positive reviews.

Keep in mind that there are no companies out there that have a perfect record. I don't think I have ever seen a company that has made every client perfectly happy. I have used several different companies (about 4 to date) and they have all left something to be desired...sometimes something very small but none of them was perfect. Well, Tiffany was but that one time was in '01 and that particular driver is no longer with them.
You are always going to find someone to give a less than stellar opinion of every single company. So, don't go nuts trying to find the 'perfect' company.

There was a company that gave good service and had a good reputation a few years back, but whose advertisements I haven't seen lately - I believe their name was "Carriage Hill Limo", or something close to that? I'm wondering if they're still out there?

(Aside - I've never seen a list of "banned limo companies" anywhere on the site, so I have no idea if this company might be on it. I plead "innocent" to any willful wrongdoing, but feel free to delete the post if necessary.)

Edit - well, the name isn't flagged by the word filter, so maybe I'm in the clear.

If the name didn't show up as ********, then you're good to go.
