Can someone give me a recommendation for a good reliable towncar service in Boston. I will need a Logan-downtown Boston roundtrip.

Also if anyone knows ballpark prices of towncar vs taxi for Logan-downtown, I would be much obliged.

Thanks in advance

Joanna

You don't say where you are located but if you are in the Metro West area my company (and myself personally) use Metro West Exclusive 617-909-0964.

Their Town Car is very clean and they were very accomodating when I used them from Newton to Black Falcon Pier for a cruise.

We've used Boston Coach numerous times for work, getting visitors to and from the airport, to the southern suburbs and back again. I would use them personally in a heartbeat.

Also, depending on where downtown you are going, there are Harbor Shuttles (boats) that take you from the airport to downtown, Rowe's Wharf, etc. If you want to PM me where you are staying, I can check those for you. My brother is a marine mechanic, and works on the harbor shuttle boats all the time.

Don't need to send you the link!! as Kimickey already has !! when I saw your post Bosotn coach was the first company that came to my mind!!!
I agree with Debbie too there is also the water Shuttles if you are staying around the harbor area

Most taxis do a flat rate if you are going to a area out side the city not sure about within the city I know the taxis are pricey think there base fare is$2.00 not sure what the rate for mileage is especially if there is a traffic jam!!!

I would guess that a cab from Logan airport to downtown Boston would run about $20-23, including tip. I took a cab from Logan to Medford (which is a few miles north of Boston), and it cost me $30 including tip. A fee of about $5.50 is automatically tacked on to every fare from the airport. The cost of the fair will be cheaper going from downtown Boston to Logan Airport because the fee will not be tacked on.

I have never used Boston Coach, but I hear they are a good company. They cater mostly to businessmen. I have inquired about pricing for them, and they have always quoted me double what I would expect to pay for a cab.

As others have mentioned, the water shuttle is a good option if you are staying near the waterfront. It costs about $10, and includes a shuttle bus from the dock to your terminal.

If you are just going from Logan to downtown Boston, take a cab or the water shuttle. A towncar is unecessary.

A taxi will cost you about $15, plus the outrageous airport access fees and the tunnel tolls. Non-rush, the trip takes about 10 minutes. During rush hours, the trip can be long, but it's better now that the new tunnel is open to all traffic.

The water shuttle is $10 or $17 r/t, but depending on your eventual destination, you'll probably still need a cab when you get off the boat. You just walk around to the front of the Boston Harbor hotel and there are usually plenty of them. The water shuttle is fun on a nice day, and a unique way to get into town. You do have to take a bus from the terminal to the dock, and you are beholden to its schedule. I've done it a couple of times and it's cool, but only if you have time to burn.
