Hi, I glanced over the threads to see if this was asked already and didn't see it (sorry if I missed it).

We are planning to go to WDW in April (Caribbean Beach Resort), and we chose to have the towncar transportation to/from Disney. About how long does the trip from the airport take, and *where* does the towncar take us to? I would hope it takes us right to check-in, but if not, where does it take us, and how to we haul our bags and stuff to the check-in area? I have read that some people requested grocery stops---does this cost extra, and when does one request the stop (in advance or when the car shows up?).

Also, not sure if this belongs following question belongs in transportation, but once at check-in, is there a luggage cart or something we can use to get the things to our room?

(we are complete disney newbies, so I hope my questions aren't that trivial/ silly...just trying to get a feel for what to expect...this is a big thing for us---sooooo excited!!)

The trip from the airport is about 20 - 30 minutes, depending on traffic. You will be dropped off in front of the main check in building. The driver should help unload the car, but then the bags are up to you. You could have the luggage people from Disney help if you have too much stuff to carry or you can transport it all yourself. Some resorts let you take a luggage cart yourself (holding a $250 deposit on your room until it is returned) and some do not. It really depends on the resort. i haven't stayed at CBR so I am not sure how they operate. Having the bell services get everything for you may be your best bet if you have a lot of stuff.

If you want a grocery stop, you should request it when you make the reservation for the towncar. Most of the larger companies do not charge for this. They give anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes in the store and then you will be charged extra. Not sure what you need that you can't bring with you, but it may be helpful. I personally just pack whatever snacks I need sealed in my suitcase and have never had a problem.

Thanks, I was thinking of getting water since I hear buying it at the parks can add up, but read that others just take a Brita filter bottle, so I think I will just buy one of those and it'll be easier (and cheaper :) )

Another question:

we booked the towncar through Disney---we asked the CM about times for pick-up/drop-off, and she said the driver will just know and meet us there. ??? I thought we needed to arrange times. Or does Disney send them the info as to when our flight arrives? Still, I don't know how he will know when to pick us up from the resort other than knowing when the flight leaves, but what if we wanted to get there early or something? Does Disney send a packet to fill out or something?

I've never booked a towncar through Disney. Do you know how much you are paying for it? I normally pay about $80 r/t plus tip from Cartier. When I book, I give the flight numbers for the way down and arrange the pickup time when I am there in person. I also have the telephone number handy to let the driver know if I am going to be late or miss a flight connection.

Check to see how much you are paying for this service through Disney. If it is more than $80 - 85, you may want to drop this service and book with an outside company. There is a thread around this board that will give you many of the good companies to deal with.
