My 5 1/2 yo rode TT for the first time last week. He was so proud that dh had to buy him a TT Mickey afterwards. Ds has become a thrill ride junkey. He rode TT, Mission Space, etc. several times throughout the week.

way to go!! My children are also like that, they love all those wild rides, me on the other hand cant stand them , they dont get that from me...lol

Your kids are more adventurous than my 34 year old DH. :rotfl: He rode it one time and screamed his head off the whole time then nearly blessed me out for "making" him ride it.

hahahahaha On our first trip to WDW DD (then 4) got on it with myslef, MIL, and DH. I was terrified from the moment I walked in the entrance of the ride. We got on and I looked at DH and said this is not gonna be good for either of us (myself and DD) I knew she was about to lose it. Her face was WHITE!!! Well we go through the ride and halfway through it I "FOUND" the bars to hold on to (I WAS THRILLED) and then it happened the big drop...I SCREAMED MY HEAD OFF!!!! Looked over at DD and she says can we ride it again....UGHHHH

She and DH rode it 3 more times right in a row (no wait)...I sat outside about to lose my lunch!!!! :rotfl2:

I will not be riding that again in July but she has already mentioned that she wants to ride it as soon as we get there!!!

My son kept asking to go on when he was 4. I finally said yes. He is a thrill junkie like his older brother and dad. Now my daughter is just the oppisite she wanted off of winnie the pooh. She did three things in all of Disney when we last went down. Carasoul (spelling) Dumbo and Bell reading a story. That was the best 100.00 day I spent LOL

My DS was a little bit older than your DS when he first rode TOT. He would pretty much ride what ever and was fine with the ride...Or so I thought. We get back to our resort and he REFUSED to get on the elevator. For the rest of the trip we had to take the steps. It took him years to get over the elevator stuff and he still does not ride them if he has a choice and he has not YET gotten back on TOT though he will ride just about anything anywhere!!!
i on the other hand LOVE TOT.

our trips to WDW were what got DD onto the big rides. I love 'em, so I am thrilled!

DD at age 6 refused to go on anything except the kiddie rides. I began to understand why IASW can drive a person crazy. :)

DD at age 7 decided that maybe the Primeval Whirl would be ok to try. Spent the whole time in line gripping my arm as if she was about to fall off a buildingand I had to keep reminding her that Mickey Mouse wouldn't *want* his guests to get hurt, so yes, it was safe. Once she tried it, she wanted to ride it all day. However, she went in the opposite direction when she found out that Dinosaur! was going to be loud and was having none of that.

DD at age 8 figured that she had survived Primeval Whirl last time around, so she'd *try* to trust me and go on the big rides. She loved TOT, adored Dinosaur!, wanted to go on RNRR again and again, etc........ It was WONDERFUL! :) :) :) Now she wants to go on every big rollercoaster she sees on tv. Gotta love it!

I am impressed! Being an older adult, I was surprised how many smaller children were waiting to get on Tower of Terror when I went to ride. When I saw my picture after getting off the ride-you could tell where the big wimp was sitting.

In January I discovered what thrill junkies I had for kids. DD5 rode TOT and Space Mountain repeatedly while DS3 fell in love with TOT. In fact, he didn't understand why mom had resisted letting him on for 10 days, now the only pre-requisite of the itinerary for October is that the first ride has to be TOT!

happy riding to all,
Claire xx

Your so lucky!!

I had to beg my 7yr old DD to go on TT and she didn't like it at all. I told her I was proud of her for trying it and she didn't have to go on it again if she didn't want to.

I, on the other hand, loved it!!!

My DD, now 6, first rode ToT at age 4. She loved it! We thought she would be afraid of the story line (she's still nervous on HM!! lol!!), but that she would love the ride. Turned out that she thought the story was funny! Like the OP, we bought a ToT souvenir after her first ride--a t-shirt just like Mom and Dad bought when they rode ToT for the first time on their honeymoon!

By the way, DD's first trip to WDW, she was too short for ToT. They gave her the "Future Rider Certificate" that functions like a fastpass for her next trip. Needless to say, she made a beeline to ToT as soon as we entered the gates of MGM.

She now loves all the thrill rides--Splash, Space, BTMRR, Test Track. I can hardly wait for her to try MS and Soarin' on this next trip. We also will be there for the DVC/AP preview for EE and are trying to work her out a ride on that. Following in her Mommy's footsteps...
