Ok, so I know this has been talked about but I can't find it. My DD will be 3.5 when we go & I want her to try as much as she can. I was wondering what others have experienced if they took their toddler on the TT? I don't want others to look at me like I'm crazy but I won't know what DD will think until we do it.

What's your experience? Thanks!!! :)

I took my 5 year old on it last May. She was fine going on it, but she didn't want to ride it again afterwards.

My DN4 rode it and when she came off loved it so much she called me (Well my sister called and gave the phone to my DN).

She loved it and ran back to the entrance.

If your DD is tall enough no one is going to look at you strange.

The only issue I thought my DN would have is the pre show stuff but it wasn't a problem.

My daughter went for the first time at 5, loved it. Quickly became one of her favorite rides.

I've been on ToT so many times with little kids and I've never seen any of them scarred for life. I rode next to a tiny little boy once and his arms and legs were flying all over the place. When we got off I asked his mom how old he was and she told me he was 4, had already ridden with his dad once and then dragged her on! I hope my kid has that kind of fearlessness once she's finally tall enough to ride my favorite ride!

Oh and as far as odd looks go...a few years ago I went through the entire queue a very obvious 8 months preggo (I took the "chicken" elevator but just really didn't want to miss out on a little ToT vibe) and no one looked at me strange!

Have fun!

Took my DD4 on last September. She rode willingly but did not like it. She went through the whole ride with her head burried under my arm. She did want to ride it again which was fine. I was just proud of her for trying it. She also rode BTMRR and Splash Mountain. What a little trooper!

Last year, my recently turned 4 year old rode it. He had watched the video on youtube many times (highly suggest doing that), so he kind of knew what to expect and was looking forward to it. The only thing he didn't like was the feeling of his bottom being lifted off of the seat -- he liked it okay but said he didn't want to ride again (not that we had another opportunity that trip, anyway). He wants to ride it gain this year, though.

This year he'll be big enough for EE -- again, has watched the video a lot -- he says he wants to try it. He'll also be big enough to ride Space Mountain this time, but I wouldn't dream of encouraging this -- I know what his limits are.

The funny thing is, he's the daredevil of my two boys, but my older one is waaaay more into thrill rides. Go figure.

No one is going to give you odd looks but remember that every child is different. My grandson, who we all thought would absolutely LOVE Twilight Zone, freaked out on Soarin' so we didn't even venture a thought about Tower of Terror for him. It wasn't the thrill thing, it was more of the height thing for him. But other kids are fine with it. My little guy just can't handle being up high. He's like his grandmother that way (although I love Twilight Zone but I'm almost 50 and will deal with the after affects.)

My advice - have your daughter look at the attraction from the outside. If she thinks she can handle it, take her on it but remember that you can always exit right before you get on the elevator. Heck - you can exit AFTER you get on the elevator but before the doors are closed. Sometimes the inside of this attraction is worse for kids than the outside.

DD was stoked to ride it at DL when she hit 40" (3 yrs and 2 mnths) and did great until the movie - the darkness and storm freaked her out. She had one more scare as we waited to board the elevator, and she hid her eyes from the 'show' part once we boarded... But, she threw her little arms up and screamed in delight as soon as we started the drops and rode it 11 more times. She still hates the lightning in the movie but is unfazed with the rest. :-)

When we went to WDW last May, and she saw it looming in the distance, she burst into excited tears and asked to go ride it before going to MK. Even now, she's planning on taking the family on it this summer and talks about the 'pretend ghost'.

One thing I saw at HS this past trip was a dad at the photo area after the ride, talking to his little DD and showing her the photos and people exiting the ride to help calm her fears. They were there for two of our exits, and then I saw them boarding when we got to the elevator room later, so I assume that helped her feel better about riding.

I will say we got some condescending stares the first time we took her through the queue because she was a little emotional with the ambiance.... but we knew she'd enjoy the thrill and even the skeptics on our elevator admitted it was great to see such raw enthusiasm. :scared1:

Took my DD'S 4 & 5 IN 2009,and they WILL NOT ride it again;been back 3 times since, and they REFUSE to ride; They rode BTMRR with no problem, rode SM once, won't ride again, won't ride Space either.:confused3 My girls are just not the thrill ride types I guess-maybe when they get older!;) Coincidentally,I have to DRAG my DW on Everest and Space every time!:sad2:

My DD5 is a daredevil that rides everything she is tall enough to safely ride. She loves them all: Expedition Everest, Soarin', Test Track, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, etc etc.

She did *not* enjoy Tower of Terror.

In her words "it was just too much, I can't do it again."

In my own words: She was scared sh!tless.

I rode it once sitting behind a 5 year old. She was wailing and terrified the entire time. I felt really, really bad for her. So yes, it does terrify some kids. I guess you have to know your kid (and cross your fingers!).

DD went on ToT for the first time recently. She was so excited to be tall enough to finally ride it!!! She rode it happily but said afterwards she didn't want to ride it again! However as time has passed she wants to go again!!!

My DD was 2yrs 10 mths when she rode it for the first time. And then went on it 6 times in a row. No funny looks, but a couple of the CMs kept giggling at her persistent excitement as we came through each time.

My GD Sophia was just shy of 4 the first time I took her on. There was no great reaction on the ride, but as we walked off she said, 'Pop, I don't ever want to go on that again'. Now, 5 years later, she can't wait to go back and ride it.

Our oldest was 4 when he first went on TOT and he loved it so much we rode it many more times. He proceeded each time while in the line up to tell anyone who would listen how great it was...we will see how our twin 5 year olds handle it this summer for the first time.

I took a scaredy-cat 3yo. He hugged me for moral support on Figment, lol. Goofy came stomping up the stairs and over to our table at LTT and the kid had to be removed from the restaurant because he was scared poopless by Goofy and started crying. No way we were attempting ToT.

I have seen kids that little on ToT, having the time of their lives. There is a pic of me looking scared and screaming sitting next to a 3yo who is smiling.

It's always a crapshoot with kids and fear, but I'd see how your little one does with other, less scary stuff before joining the ToT line. :)

Best of luck!

I remember my dad forcing me to go on Space Mountain when I was the BARE minimum height. I seriously will never forget it.. I remember staring at the red carpet being so scared... and then we went on itand I was convinced we went upside down and I was TERRIFIED of Space Mountain for over a decade. I FINALLY went on it a few years ago and it's soooo not scary, but from my experience as around 4 or 5 I got it in my head that Space Mountain was the scariest ride ever! It still kind of intimidates me, the name.. even though I've been on WAY worse rides at Cedar Point :-P

I would definitely try a few other of the not so scary thrill rides first. See how it goes with splash mountain, btmrr and then see about ToT. That is what we did with ds when he was 4. He loved all of them. When we got strapped in at ToT I thought I was the worst mom every and he was going to be terrified. I think he was scared but he enjoyed it!!!
