My DH (who is in a wheelchair) would love to able to do Tower of Terror and on our trip a couple weeks ago, we tried to see if he could transfer, but he couldn't get his chair close enough to do it. They were willing to give him plenty of time to transfer onto the bench seat, but he has to be pretty close so that he can either transfer himself or with my help as he has no use of his legs. Is there a trick to getting your wheelchair inside the car close enough to the first bench seat to make transferring a little easier?

Also, if you are able to transfer, do they take your wheelchair to the unloading area as this is a different place?

I can make the transfer fairly easily now a days. They did widen the opening from how it was when the ride first opened. I take my footrests off and I can get my chair through the opening and right up to the seat. It's a full frontal pivot transfer though and not a slide to the side transfer.

In the above picture(boy do I look Goofy :) ) you can see I transfered over to the seat on the right. However I prefer to go to the one straight across from the opening. It's more of a straight shot in and easier for me.

They take your wheelchair to the exit of the ride. I've had no problems with it being there and when I rode solo they had a CM bring the chair up to me in the elevator.

Thanks! I didn't think of taking his stirrups off. That probably would have gotten him close enough that I could have helped him pivot onto the seat. Next time we go, we'll try that!

We've only ridden it with DD in her wheelchair once, but the wheelchair was waiting at the exit when we got there.
