Tower of Terror ???????S

Thanks for the description Pandy Paws.....can hardly wait to ride my favorite ride this June!!!:bounce:

Can't wait to try the new drop sequences! It sounds great!

To me, this ride is mild compared to Dr. Doom's Fearfall at IOA.

:jumping2: :jumping2:

Word to the wise here - make sure you locate the grab handles BEFORE the first drop! Last summer on my first ever ride on TOT, I rode in the seat between my 2 male bosses and gave them quite a shock when I grabbed their legs on the first drop instead of the grab handles!!! (Lucky for me I have young cutie bosses, huh?)

They still give me grief about that ride! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

MCMom

I went on with my brother and wife. I loved the fact that the drops were random, but even still, my wife thought it was fun, but expected more of a thrill or more drops each time.

My brother was screaming his brains out!!!!! LOL My wife and I bought the picture to prove it!!!!

Having been many times on both, I don't think you can compare them at all-- they are two very different sensations

Dr. Doom shoots you straight up. It is scary because of heights and that you think you might fly off the top, and well that's about it. Actually, I think that it's false advertising to call it "Fearfall" as there's very little falling involved at all:)

While you cannot see much outside as a frame of reference on TOT, the free fall experience is (IMHO) so, so much cooler than any feeling you get on Dr. Doom. Dr. Doom goes up and it's over; ToT goes up, down or down, up or down, down down....way better for someone who likes free fall:)

went in nov 2003 dw went one time and did not like .however my ds(5) loved it . all together ds and i when on 8 different times that week.:bounce: :bounce: :earseek:

Ohhh! Just reading about TOT makes me wish I were there right now!! When we rode it in 2003 I thought it was even better with the random drops and the lap belts. This is definitely a ride that I couldn't miss.

This is my DS(5) favorite ride. When we were there last Aug. we went on this ride atleast 13x's during the week! He couldn't get enough!!! This is the first ride he wants to get on this year when we go in September.

Man, I am homesick! I just got back from vacation yesterday and last rode TOT this past Thursday! Last year my then 11 yr old DS rode it w/hubby and hated it! He complained of the lap bar not being secure enough...he was afraid to get on it this year but eventually did and LOVED it with the seatbelt..i think it made him feel more secure.

I rode it twice last August and I didn't see anything to hold onto - either by the seat or on the wall. I think I would have noticed cause I REALLY wanted something to hold onto! :hyper: The 1st time I rode it I had maybe 4 drops - some short ones in there - wasn't that major. Of course the 2nd time I got on it with my 5 yr old who totally surprised me by wanting to ride it - we must have gotten the sequence with the most and highest drops - a totally different experience from my ride the previous day. The lap bars made me feel more secure cause I had something to hold onto! Now I'll have to look for those handles folks have mentioned.

For those of you that are interested http://www.wdwmagic.com/tower.htm Has sketches of the 4 drops currently being used. (note: Page contains other spoilers as well). I like the current random drops. I do wish though that they had half the ride the way it is and half the ride more tame. Maybe only one drop. That would allow people who are unsure of the ride a chance to ride it and see how they like it.

my dad and my little sister rode it about a month ago when we were there and he said that they had seat belts and the lap bar on it.
