We went all the way to the top and my son wanted off and they were wonderful.

I don't understand.

What do you mean by "all the way to the top"... and what did Disney do that was "wonderful" about it?

Same here. :confused3

I can only presume that they had to stop the ride (after it had gone up to the top and done the whole story thing) and bring it back down (slowly) to get them off..?

Because the chicken exit must be at ground level before you go up in the lift.

I seriously doubt that.

There are usually "screams" happening in most elevators.

If they stopped the attraction for THAT...
NOBODY would ever get to ride. :goodvibes

But you never know... that's why I asked for more info.

My 78 year old grandmother rides TOT EVERY time she goes to Disney, which is almost once a year! She absolutely loves it! She will get on any ride unless it goes upside down. So she doesn't do RnR. :sunny:

What other rides have chicken exits. I waited outside on a few that my family went on ,, did not know anything about "chicken exits" .. It would have been nice to
see the inside of some of these. So do all the rides have chicken exits or
just some ?????

Thanks

That's eazy.

You can choose NOT to ride on every single attraction at WDW.

When you get to the "loading", just tell a CM.

Some rides (like, ToT, RnRC, HM, Soarin') have "exits" set up... but ALL rides (even Dumbo, Tea Cups, etc.) allow you to simply choose not to board and walk away (one way or another).

Its simply no big deal.

It is simply no big deal. Thanks to a road rage incident, there are certain attractions I can no longer do at Disney World. Oh well. Last month, we went (three weeks after the accident) and I did the "no thanks" (I love that instead of chicken exit) exit at Twilight Zone (one of my favorites but no more). It's so easy. You both can go through the whole queue together. Through the library, through the boiler room. When you get to the seater person, just say "one to ride, one to leave". Honestly, I thought I was treated better by leaving than staying!

You can bail out at any Disney World attraction. Our five year old granddaughter, who was so excited to go on Dinosaur, decided it wasn't for her. My husband took her out by exiting through the vehicle while the rest of us rode. You never have to ride a Disney attraction. Never.

I took the "chicken" exit. But we were actually ON the ride, buckled up, door closed, etc. and then the door opened and they had everyone exit and put on another "elevator". At that point, I took the chicken exit and waited for DH. As I was waiting, I thought, "well, maybe that's part of the ride - just trying to make you think there is something wrong with the elevator." Anyway, DH came out and said he thought it was great and I should try it. So I did. (I guess there was really was something wrong with the first elevator we got on cause we weren't made to exit this time). There was a VERY little girl sitting on the seat next to me. When we looked at the picture they take that they want you to buy (I'm not sure but I'm thinking the picture is taken at the first drop), I'm sitting there with my eyes closed and mouth wide open in a scream and the little girl is turned sideways looking at me like I'm crazy! Wish I'd bought that picture. Glad I went on the ride though.

My DD and I had to use the chicken exit in May, we had just finished seeing Fantasmic and ToT had no line at all, so my DH wanted to ride the ride for the first time. I asked where to meet him and a CM told us to follow my DH into the ride and when we got to the elevators to ask a CM to direct us to the exit. My DD (6) completely freaked out when all the doors shut and they started showing the video clip, she thought I had tricked her onto the ride!!! So the video clip ends, the doors open and we all start walking to the elevators, I find a CM to bring us to the exit as my DH gets on another elevator going up for the ride. The elevator going down finally arrives and the CM gets out of it with two teenage girls and he's still faced and talking this way to my daughter and once again, she freaks out! The CM stayed with his act until the elevator doors closed, then he was all smiles and even gave my DD a pin for the ToT! It was completely hysterical! Now when someone asks her about the ToT, all she tells them was that she was petrified! If anyone happened to be at MGM in the beginning of May and saw a little blond haired girl freaking out in the ToT.....that was us!!!
