LOL...I'm not really sure that would happen :rotfl:

But he's now tall enough and when we go in May he'll be turing 4 on the trip and "allowed" by Disney to go on it.

Well at least he'll be able to go on Splash Mountain too!! :cool1:

DD did it when she was 4. She's a thrill freak and has ridden every single ride as soon as she's tall enough EXCEPT for SM. Took us a couple of trips to convince my wife to let her on that one since I can't sit right beside her...

If he's tall enough, does well with all the lead-up rides (like BTMRR, Test Track, etc), and wants to go - why not? :cool1:

I don't see the problem. Unless the child is scared?? My 4 year old was totally game, but not tall enough. She couldn't wait untill the next year when she was finally tall enough for it.

When my husband and I were married at WDW in 2007 our Nephew was 4 years old. We took him to Hollywood Studios the day after we were married. He was pretty tall for his age and got really excited when he saw TOT. We thought it was insane to even consider putting him on the ride, but we called his parents after he asked for the 10th time to see how they felt. Long story short, he got to ride it and LOVED IT!

He's usually fine on any ride he can do, does any "roller coaster" and ride he's tall enough to do and gets upset when we tell him he's too small for a ride, I'm more concerned he'll be scared of the show before and don't want to be "that parent" :rotfl:

I know once he's on the ride he'll be fine and want to ride it. Guess we'll just have to let him try and see how he acts. But that would be cool if he goes!

My DS rode it when he was just 3.5 and just turned 4. He doesn't want to ride it over and over but, does want to ride it once per trip. I was trying to find a youtube video; maybe someone else remembers it. The girl has no expression like she is just sitting on a park bench. That is exactly what DS looked like last time. He said he liked it but, it was really weird.

Definitely show the ride video beforehand. The parts before the drop can be a little scary but, I always point out the 'pretty' stars etc.

My oldest hit 40" at barely 3 years old. He wanted to do TOT at home when we showed it to him - but changed his mind once he saw it. The same thing happened at 3.5 years old. We just went back, and he's 6.5 years old now. My more adventurous second child is nearly 4 and barely 40". She went on TOT, which convinced him to give it a try as well. My daughter did great with the theming and pre-ride stuff, which I thought might scare her. But she did not like the flying off the seat part. So, she did it just once. (My other child did it twice). The ride didn't scar her though - she was willing to try everything she was tall enough during our trip.

I agree to show the child a video of it but also don't put any pressure on the child. I figure that as long as the child feels that he/she is in complete control of deciding, then it's fine to try. (Though I also put an exception on Space Mountain due to the seating. I wouldn't let a 4 year old do that but would let a mature 5 year old or any 6 year old do it).

Thanks everyone!

I showed him a bunch of videos this morning and believe it or not he said he wanted to do ToT but didn't want to do Splash Mountain :lmao:

I will let him watch them a few more times so he knows what to expect and let him decide when we get there. He did a similar type free fall ride at Kings Island last summer, it obviously wasn't near as thrilling but I explained it to him and told him it was like that and he got all excited :cool1:

Now I can't wait until my 2 year old is tall enough to ride these rides so we can all enjoy them!!! :rotfl:

I don't know why they wouldn't let him ride. I'm 76" tall and 42 years old and they still let me on (when I'm goofy enough to get in line) even though I scream like a little girl every time it drops!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Seriously, like others have said, as long as they reach the minimum height limit they don't look at age. As our son was growing up he rode every ride they would let him on even though his mother and I were terrified of the ride. I've ridden several rides with him that I would not normally have ridden so that he could ride since he was to young to ride alone.

My 4 yo DD did both TOT and Splash at Disneyland last summer...I think she would do TOT again before she would do Splash, but says she isn't doing either again on our next trip to WDW this summer!

My 3 year old (almost 4) LOVES "to ter" as she calls it. I can't believe it, but I think it depends on the kid.

Both my kids rode when they were 3. They had no problems and wanted to ride again.
I on the other hand have never ridden it and probably never will!

My 4 & 6 y.o. were totally game, but screamed their heads off. Now when we talk about DisneyWorld they always says "I want to go back, but not on the Tower of Terror". Oh well. I guess their not thrill seekers like their mom. At least I still have hope with the youngest. He'll be tall enough the next time we go.

my four yr old dd did it twice last year, once in the dark before the park closed! i was shocked!!! the first nite we got there she was game to hit it with during emh- which was literally walk on. i clung to her so tight tho i hurt her arm! lol she still reminds me that i did. she didnt squak at all, not one peep! but sshe didnt want to do it again....until our second to last nite and i was heading on it for one last go. she said mommy i want to go on again! so we did...and not a sound out of her at all...so we got her a shirt to remember it for sure! she loved it! lol

my mom didn't let me go until I was eight... I was also a short kid so I don't think rule made a. difference lol but I begged my mom every trip to go and finally, when I was eight, she let me go. I was excited... up until we got to the boiler room and chickened out. did the same thing the year after that. but once I faced my fear I realized that actually getting to your seats is scarier than the ride itself! one thing my mom used to say was " it's disney magic! it's all pretend!" make sure your child is just ready to be spooked along the way and hope he has blast :)

My DD did it when she was four. Our youngest DD did it when she was three.

My oldest DS has loved ToT, ever since his first ride at 3. My younger DS, on the other hand is 8 1/2 and still will not go on it.

make sure your child is just ready to be spooked along the way and hope he has blast :)

I think that's what I'm worried about, him being spooked by the show along the way, but we'll just make sure he knows it's just pretend and hopefully he will be ok.

He actually talked about it all day yesterday after I showed him the video telling everyone we saw that he's going on it, he's gearing up for it :rotfl: Of course he also told them he's going in 5 days (we aren't going until May) ;)

Can anyone tell me where I can find videos of the rides? We're going for our first trip next week and wanted to show my kids the videos. Thanks!
