Tower of Terror 13K & 6.5K Race Website Link

So what is the game plan before the race? After we finish? And after they kick us out of MGM?

Big River at Boardwalk? Great beer:cool1:

Well to start with we are doing the 13K and not the 6.5K right? We need to register for the proper race.

Yes we love the Big river, beer is one of life's great pleasures. We especially like sitting out on the patio on a nice evening.

We are open for any suggestions, we are relative new Disney Junkies so we bow to the masters. So much we don't know, heck I didn't even know about the annual pass.

We will be staying from the 24th till the 30th. Pointing the new mustang conv south, it knows the way. So we will have a car to fairy people home if we party after the buses stop running.

Erica and I are not doing this race for time at all so a group brisk walk would be awesome also.

Dave:yay:

All us EPCOT resort people will just be able to walk to the start and back home after the party. As mentioned BR is on the way back. So is the ESPN Club:rolleyes1

A mass group walk would be great way to shoot the miles and night away:cool1:

You signed up for the 13K right?

We will probably stay at the Swan or Dolphin this time since we will have the annual pass for park entries and Erica is a nurse so we can get a rate of $169 per night there, that beats $315 and up for the other Epcot resorts. We will stay there so we can walk home also. A cooler of good beer will be available for a night cap after the MGM throws us out if anyone is interested. We are driving down so we can do that to.

I'll pm you Erica's cell number since she always has hers with her.

Dave:hippie:

It looks like several of us Flying Piggers will be doing the ToT 13K as well, which is pretty cool. This will be a great time.

Dave

Yes, the rate with the nurses or teachers discount is $169 a night at the Swan. The Westin heavenly beds are the most comfortable beds around, and the location is walkable to the start and from the finish. At that price is is an outstanding deal.

Martha and I have booked Thursday through Sunday at the Swan, so perhaps we'll see you and Erica there.

Craig

Group meets before and after the race? Count us in! We're still not sure where we're staying--toying around with either the Swan/Dolphin or possibly Wilderness Lodge. But either way, we're up for hanging out before and after. It may be a late night Saturday. Glad we can sleep all day Sunday if needed. :)

We were just talking about the possibility of running with a bunch of you guys. Neither Krista or I are running it for time, just to have fun, so it would be great to go as a group. Maybe we can have two or three groups for approximate paces. Dunno, just a thought.

This is going to be great!

Steve

I am committed to the WDW Tri which is on Sept 23, now I have to figure out how to convince DH to borrow more DVC pts from next year and take another trip to DW less than a month later. The good news is DH is almost always up for a DW, maybe I can convince him to run it with me... he said he would start running if I found the "Perfect Race" this would certainly qualify as the perfect race for him

What the hay - I'm IN - lets just hope for a good SW Ding.

TOT 13K - Here I come!

Yes Swan sounds like a plan, we will see you there.

Party all night Saturday after a whopper of a race and cool rides at the MGM of my yes!!!!

Dave and Erica:yay:

Man, I am so jealous! There is no way I could get off from work, since I'll be in WDW for 10 days, in Jan., plus I don't have the cash flow right now. I'm sure you will have a blast! How fun...glow in dark shirts, live music, cool rides and great company, what more can a person want? lol. :woohoo:

Yep. All of the above, but screw it we are going any way. Besides this is all your fault, you came on the walking site and found us!!

Dave:hippie:

Ok Erica and I are staying at the Swan. 24th through the 30th.

They have a good discount so it was the least expensive way to stay at the Epcot/MGM area.

Oh my this is getting so exciting.

Dave:yay:

Dave--what rate did you get for the Swan? This is one of the resorts we're still tossing around as a possibility.

Steve

I just signed up to stay at the Swan (Oct. 26-29) at the $169 rate. I'm not sure, yet, how I'm going to get out of work but I've got to come up with something. :scratchin I'm already taking off the Friday and Monday the week before the Nike women's half. :rolleyes1 This race, however, just sounds like so much fun!

Leana, sounds like I'm just as crazy as you are for doing both races. I just wish I could take the whole week in between off work but I can't. :(

I used the military since I'm retired military but it's the same as the nurse/teacher ect. It was a total of 1500 after taxes for staying 6 nights. It was 169 for week day and 279 for weekend nights. Just hit the info link on top of the wish site and go top resorts then hit the link for swan/dolphin and it will figure it for you.

It was cheaper than the Boardwalk by far which starts at 315 per night.

We are buying annual passes also so we can use them then and January.

Dave:)

Dave, my reservation confirmation (teacher discount) doesn't say anything about $279 for weekend nights. It just says $169 per night. :confused3

Let me see if this link works and I'll show you what I did, if you got a better deal, hey that's great, I don't know either.

http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/dreamsres/sd.cfm#hm-sd- discount

Oh, ok. I didn't go through that link. I called the Westin and got the $169 teacher rate. My confirmation clearly shows up at $169 per nite so I'm going to stick them to that. ;)

You might try calling just to see if you can get the $169 per night as well.

ETA: The Westin Web site is also showing $169/night. Not sure why DreamsUnlimited is showing a $279 for weekend nights.

Yay Susie!! So I'll see you both in San Francisco and at Disney. :cheer2:
