Tower of Terror 10 Miler 2014

My daughter and I are in! I was so nervous that it would fill quickly that I took the 11th off from work! I know you guys said it wasn't one to fill up in minutes but I was really nervous. Now just a few more months until we tell her!

Expo Question: Will Dooney & Bourke have a special bag design for this race? If so, do we preorder them? They seem to have one for every other race so I'm hoping to add a Dooney to my daughter's 16th birthday present.

.

The only races that fill up within a couple of days are the Disneyland races and inagural races or challenges like Dopey last year.Anniversary races or challenges are also likely to sell out faster than usual but unless it's at Disneyland it won't be in just a couple of days.I plan to do the Goofy challenge in 2015 for the 10th anniversary and I'm certain it will sell out faster than usual but it won't be in days,I still plan to get in early just in case. You can see when the race reaches 50% capacity in the register button, then as it fills up it'll say 60%,70% and so on,as of now ToT is still probably well under 50%,maybe in a month or two it'll reach 50%,of course I could be wrong and it could be next week.A full sell out will probably take 3-4 months at least.

All signed up for the big race and the kids races. Thinking about adding the 5k. Is the 5k finish in the vicinity of the start of the kids races?? Wondering if I'm pushing it trying to do it all. Typically I run a 35ish 5k but I would be a lot slower for this one to get some character pics in and don't want to be to spent for the 10 miler.

The 5k ends near the Kid Races at WWoS at least it did last year.

There is at least 13 hours between the 5k and 10 Miler so provided you relax during the day, you should be recovered I would think.

My husband and I are registered for the 10 miler. I'm beyond excited as this will be our first runDisney event! (And the first race I have ever registered for ... But I have a 5k and 10k this Spring)

Woohoo! Less than a month until we do the 5K! It will be my first! Can't wait!! And then we'll keep training for October!

I'm in! Terrified as I'm just starting my training, but it looks like so much fun!!!

Hello All,

I am pretty new to the forum and thankfully I finally found the threads about runDisney events. I am considering the ToT event but since it will be my first I have a few questions. I'm sure more will come later but this is it for now.

At the event, do they have lockers to put your stuff in while you run?

Has anybody booked a hotel yet? I am trying to work on my budget. I tried calling before and they don't give prices until you register. I would be looking at the value or moderate resorts.

Do they have water stations throughout the race or do I need to carry a bottle with me?

Of course I can't think of the rest that I had, they will hopefully come to me later.

Hello All,

2. Has anybody booked a hotel yet? I am trying to work on my budget. I tried calling before and they don't give prices until you register. I would be looking at the value or moderate resorts.

3. Do they have water stations throughout the race or do I need to carry a bottle with me?

1. No lockers, but they do give you a bag with your race number on it. A bag drop off will be located near the corrals before the start of the race and they will have them for you at the finish!

2. I am surprised they wouldn't tell you prices...I actually don't think I have even been asked! And I have also called and asked for prices before registering. I would call back again, you may have gotten a CM who was new or something. I would look at booking sooner rather than later, they do start filling up. The deluxe resorts usually go first though, and smaller resorts like POFQ.

3. Water stations throughout the race are plentiful.

GL! Rundisney events are great for first timers!

Well, I called and was able to get prices this time, thanks. And thanks for the other info as well. Since I asked, and now have the info, I might as well share it to help anyone else who might want to plan.

For 3 nights, so 10/2-10/5 it would be the following:

Any of the All-Star resorts- $339.27
Port Orleans Riverside- $483.00
Wilderness Lodge- $975.75

These are all single occupancy, as I am going by myself.

The 2 day park hopper (I didn't think I would use 3 days) is $159.75.

I have to say, these don't sound like much of a bargain. I hope this helps others out there who might have been wondering.

Rundisney gives slightly better room discounts as compared to the normal fall offers, usually a couple of %. At the deluxe it should be about 35% or 37% off. But with your ticket alone you are saving about $100 off of gate price :confused3

I got my room for race weekend, 10/2 - 10/6, 4 nights at POFQ for 644. Still debating on 2 day ticket for parks, i honestly think i will not have time with one park on thurs , expo/packet pick up and exploring resort friday, race saturday (5k for GF in morning, i go at night) and recovery the day after . Anyone have their weekend planned with park visits?

I'm planning on spending some time in the parks that weekend, but I have an AP so if I just go in for 2-3 hours and leave it's not a big deal. It's going to depend on how tired I am and how busy the parks are. I'll probably go in to wander around and take pictures at the very least.

I was registered for this race last year but wasn't able to run it due to a SCUBA trip.

I was, however, able to defer my 2013 registration to this year's ToT 10-Miler (yay!). I ran my first half marathon last month and emailed runDisney my updated my proof of time.

This will be my first runDisney race - looking forward to it! :)

Just one question...

Are there photopass photographer during the race at the character photo op?

Hi, jumping in with a couple questions! I'm thinking of registering - would be my first race and maybe first solo trip unless I can convince my sis to go! - and wondering if the tickets you can book through runDisney can be upgraded to APs?

Also, can you book a package through them and do the $200 deposit or are tix/room treated separately?

And finally, is the runner the only person eligible for the discounted tix? Or if another person travels with you, same room but not racing, can you purchase 2 discounted tix/include them on the package? If that's okay, is there a limit to the number of discounted tix you can buy? Thinking about doing the Princess Half during our next family trip, wondering if I can get the savings then for the whole crew! ;)

Thanks! :)
