I'm am very close to buying a resale at SSR but I have a question about towels. I understand that you do not get housekeeping everyday but are you allowed to pick up towels daily. How does this work?

Thanks

Autumn

If you want extra towels, you can request them through housekeeping and they will give you another set but a charge is made (which I believe is $6).

I have a question on the same line. I am renting points in Oct and understand that means I will be following the DVC guidelines. What is supplied in the studios? I don't have to bring sheets or anything do I? (you never know, stranger things have happened!) We always bring beach towels for the pool but should I bring extra bath towles and wash clothes? I hope someone can help me answer this! :goodvibes

As in most timeshare resorts, towels and sheets and bedding is included! :) If you are in a 1,2,or 3 bedroom, you will have a washer and dryer in the unit where you might choose to wash your towels if you need fresh ones daily. If you are in a studio, there is a washer and dryer free for your use in the commons area. If you want daily towel packs, they are $6 per pack per day. That includes 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels and wash cloths and a bath mat. If you feel unable to make your bed or take out the trash, you can arrange for daily maid service that will cost $25 per day and up depending on the size of your unit.

No, you do not need to bring sheets. You will get 4 each: bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. You also get one bath mat. If you dont want to reuse or wash your own towels, just request a set from housekeeping. It's $6. (well worth it, IMHO if the alternative is washing them yourself, LOL). If you stay more than 3 nights, you get a fresh set on the 4th day of your stay (day 1 is check in and they also take out your trash that day). If you stay 8 nights or more you get a full cleaning on day 4 and fresh towels on day 12 if you stay that long.

You'll find ceramic mugs, glasses and paper plates, bowls and plasticware for 4. There will be a microwave, coffee maker (with one filter/coffee combo pck of reg and one of decaf provided), toaster and under counter refrigerator. There is a portable crib, vacuum, iron and ironing board in the closet. Might also be extra blankets and pillow there as well.

There sholud also be dish soap, a sponge and paper towels. Yo willfind one bath soap and a ver small bottle of shampoo/conditioner and also a box of tissues. Toilet paper is provided.

I'd consider bringing your own coffee and filters (basket type) if you drink it.

Do they tell you where to take out the trash? I think I heard that on day 4 you get a light cleaning? We will be there for 6 nights.

Yes, you get trash and towel on day 4 (check in day is day one). If you are there more than 7 nights, you will get a full cleaning on day 4 and trash and towel on day 8. That cycle repeats every 4 days.

There are trash rooms in all the resorts. At OKW, they are on the bottom floor by the walkways. At BWV, VWL, BCV, they are in the hallway, signs direct you to them. Don't know about SSR.

What you are calling a light cleaning is really just replacement of of your towels and removal of the trash. No bedmaking, no bathroom wiping down, nothing more than clean towels and trash taken out.

If you happen to fill up the trash basket before the 4th day, there are always places where you can put the bag (There's usually extra bags available either under the sink or in the basket). I know that when we had something that was really going to smell up the room, I took the trash out early. VWL has a trash room on each floor ... I'd guess that other resorts are similar. Otherwise, just keep an eye out for housekeeping cleaning someone's room and ask if you can add to their collection.

At SSR they are located on each floor similar to BCV in the hallway. There are signs to the Trash Room.
