Hi,
I wrote several weeks ago, just to tell everyone that I was ordering the 10-day World-Pass tickets from Virgin's Online Travelstore for £189 each. I received the tickets this morning, - but no sight or mention of the free beach towels!

I telephoned their Customer Services Dept and was told that a lot of people have been 'abusing' the offer by ordering tickets separately, in order to get themselves more towels. (Shock, horror!!!) The girl then contacted the towel-supplier on my behalf, and was assured that I could expect a delivery around five days time, but she couldn't tell me whether or not I'd get more than one towel, because they appear to be changing the rules to limit the offer to just one towel per family.

I should know within a week.

I got my ticket yesterday - with no towel (and I've only placed one order - so far !) :rolleyes:

The website said there are still 250 towels left - I've emailed them but haven't had a reply.
 
It's now only three days from the bogus departure date that I gave Virgin in order to receive the tickets (and towels) early.
Still no sign of the latter freebies, so I phoned up the Customer Services Dept at Virgin Travelstore (again) and was told that the towels will not be released from the wharehouse until they receive the full 1000 quota of World-Pass orders from customers. Apparently, they have only processed around 800 so far, so I might actually get them by September, in time for our actual departure date.

So, if anyone is still interesed, - the free beach towels are still there!

I've had lengthy email exchanges with Virgin Travel Store over this too :(
Firstly they told me that
The Disney towel is sent direct form the supplier. We have been told that the towels are to be sent around a week prior to passenger departure dates.

Well, as far as they are aware - I leave today ;)

Then they said
Sorry for the delay. We have been speaking to Disney and they are in the process of sending the 1000 towels out at the moment. Unfortunately though they have not guaranteed that they will be with passengers before they travel. I really hope it arrives on time, and I am sorry for any
inconvenience caused.

..and you've been told something different again !

AH well - I may get mine before October if I'm lucky !!

Well I've been told that the towels come from an independent supplier and are being sent out 7/8 days prior to departure, I asked for a phone number to speak to these people but apparently they don't have contact details for this company!!! LOL hmm I believe that!

None the wiser here how :)

Thanks for the info, I'll sit and wait for my towel to magically arrive!
 
I can't believe you have been told so many different stories:( If I get mine I'll be pleasantly surprised now:rolleyes:

I have just made an order and the site is showing 100 towels left but i couldn't see anything on my confirmation to say I would be getting a towel. Did your confirmation show this?

Got our towel this morning, they're real!!!! :):):)

It's very nice too, and has a big Sorcerer Mickey on it.
 
Just got back from a (wet) seaside daytrip, to find a Disney towel waiting for us too! The parcel was in my name, so we'll just have to wait to see whether or not Shereen will also get one for her separate ticket order, - or whether they'll only send one per household.

DH just rang me at work to say towel had arrived (he asked me what I had been buying - I didn't tell him we were going to get a freebie just in case it didn't arrive!). Bearing in mind we only ordered our tickets just over 2 weeks ago, I thought that was really good.

I have decided to hide the towel from DS9 but pack it at the top of our suitcase. When we arrive at the hotel I am going to sneak it into the bathroom with a note from "Mickey" saying "welcome back, look forward to seeing you at MK on Friday". DS is always too busy running out to the balcony to go to the bathroom when we first arrive!
 
Out of interest, I was told by TravelStore this morning that another batch of towels is due to be sent out on the last day of the promotion, which is 31st of May.

Shereen's towel finally arrived this morning! - It had a $20 price tag on it, - so I'm not sure where it came from. :)

Whereas I'm pleased we've now received a towel each, I get the feeling that this was probably due to my persistance in phoning TravelStore every week, rather than them wanting to give out more than one towel per family. Never mind, - it's a happy ending.

As a follow on from the towel tale story, I bought another towel this time featuring Tigger in the Disney Store in Norwich for £12, reduced from £18 I think!!!

So for those that need more than the one provided free of charge, here's your chance.
