i am very happy that as members we can get fresh towels whenever we want without the additional fee. i noticed dues had a little larger hike this year. do we we think this could be the reason why? or does anybody know why they changed this rule? i am happy for it, but bitter about all the monies i paid on previous trips for towels. LOL (kidding about being bitter)
 
Maybe they want to avoid folks bringing up the pool towels to use. Or swiping towels off the mousekeeping carts in the hallway.

Dues went up for supposed increase in pay to mousekeeping. My trip over last F&W we had the worst as far as cleanliness so the increased pay hasn't done squat.

Cheaper Value and Moderate resorts offer guests a gift card if you decline daily mousekeeping, but you still get free extra towel deliveries.
My takeaway from this practice suggests that Disney determined the time spent cleaning rooms (as they raise mousekeeping pay to $15/hour) is much, much more expensive than towel cleaning and delivery.
The increase in dues is likely just the increase in mousekeeping pay.
