Do they give towel animals at all of the resorts? Can you request them if you don't get them? Also, if you don't get them can you get them anywhere else for free to take home?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Yes, all the resorts, but on the same random basis. If your mousekeeper feels like it / knows how / has time / etc., you may get one or more than one.

I don't think you should request one.

Some of the resorts sometimes offer a little class in the lobby on how to make them.

Towel animals are a cute little extra from housekeeping, if they have time to make them. You are not guaranteed getting one, so don't be too upset if you don't. I know I would much rather have a clean room than a half clean one and a towel animal.:)

We were at SSR for six days in December -- not a towel animal in sight :guilty: And we left a nice tip each day for mousekeeping.

I was disappointed b/c I thought my two DDs would get a kick out of it, but there's nothing you can really do about it.

It's really hit and miss, depending on your housekeeper(s). I wouldn't request one, and I wouldn't be upset if I didn't get any -- it's not really that big a deal. Just a little something extra you get sometimes. I'm not assuming we'll get any on our next trip to WDW.:)

I've stayed at the Beach Club seven times and the Poly once and have never gotten a towel animal yet. The Mousekeepers have done funny things with the kids' stuffed animals, but no towel animals. On the Disney cruise, though, we got one every night. Same thing with a 14-night Royal Caribbean cruise -- different animal every night, too. I imagine that was a challenge for 14 nights! LOL! Anyway, if you get one, consider yourself blessed. :)

We were at the All Star Sports January 4-10 and had towel animals every day in both of our adjoining rooms. We had the loveliest Mousekeeper. She was so creative with my childrens' blankets and stuffed animals also. And in turn, my children left her thank you letters. We learned on our checkout day that she would post the notes from the kids on the bulletin board of the Mousekeepers breakroom. My children were as excited to get back to the room as they were to go to the parks. Last week we spent 3 days at All Star Music. I thought we had little chance of having such good luck with towel animals again and warned my children. Imagine their surprise when we checked in to find a huge towel Mickey Mouse on the bed and cute creatures on the windowsill. And again, we had nice surprises everyday. Our Mousekeeper said that the person that trained her taught her but not everyone knows how to do them. We love the Disney Mousekeepers and the extra magic they bring. We do tip Mousekeeping daily just like we do when we stay in any hotel/resort. And I'm sure part of our good luck is that we are here during a relatively slow period so Mousekeeping might have a little extra time with not all the rooms filled. We use to stay in the deluxe resorts but I am becoming a real fan of the All Stars. I found our rooms to be very clean and the staff very welcoming.

What do you think my chance is of getting towel animals at AKL? Are they more common at some resorts than others? My daughter is looking forward to one, but I am sure that once we are there, the towel animals may be long forgotten!

I think, I may be wrong but with my experience and what i have heard is that the All Star Resorts are good at doing the towel animals, I have had a towel animal in my room every time we have stayed there.

When we stayed at AKL we opened the door to a nice welcoming towel animal and about every other day we got something - Our favorite was a rabbit toothbrush holder :)

But when we stayed in the Cabins - we didn't get 1. I think my DH was more frustrated then the kids because it was very obvious that others were getting them as they were being showcased in the front windows for all to see.

I would personally would prefer one guaranteed towel animal on first entrance into the room and any additional ones a true bonus. I think it sets a great first impression.

My husband and I stayed at the Pop Century last August for 7 nights. When we checked in we already had a towel animal. Then we started tipping the house keeper a few dollars a day. When we came home there was a towel animal. I found myself acting like a kid and being excited to come and find a surprise. Then one day we left money and came back to no animal. I was very dissappointed. After that we didn't leave anymore money. So no more animals. But the ones we did get were cute.

The last time we stayed it was for 10 days at POR. We tipped every day, but nothing. Then on one day we got loads of them. Different mousekeeper maybe? A toothbrush holder, two butterflies on the girls pillows, and elephant, a snake, two bunnies, chicks. We didn't get any other than those. We still tipped every day. I thought that the mousekeeping was a different person every day?

I've no idea if this will work - it's my first attempt at posting a photo on the Dis. We forget to take pictures of the room but here are a few.

21 trips total..no towel animals. Cute but i would rather a clean room and bathroom.

Our many stays at the Poly not 1- but our 1st stay at WL-something neat everyday!!!! Our kids bought the Yoda characters. One day I had them at the table & when we came back they were climbing the ladder on the bunk beds. Then I kept them there & had them holding little bags. When we returned they each had the bags gone but were holding balloons with mickey stickers on them-not sure where they came from -hopefully some kids didn't have any missing..... Next day they were in the beds with the little lightsabers! It was almost like a game we were playing!!! We were excited to get back to the room to see what trouble those 2 Yodas were up to!!!!!

I've gotten towel animals at POP, BW, BC, but that's it. And at POP, there was one stay where we walked by rooms with tons of the darn things in their windows and we never got one, not once. It did occur to me that our entire area was a 'towel animal free' zone. It would seem that our housekeeper didn't know how to make them.
Funny story.....I took my 32 y/o dd to WDW for her first trip a year ago. We started our stay at POP before moving to BWV. We went to the room, and no towel animal. I didn't say anything since my dd wouldn't have noticed the lack because she had no idea they even existed. Well...we left our room, to look out over the railing at the lake area...dd noticed the window next to ours had some very cute towel animals. She just looked at me and whined (yes, a 32 y/o whined!!) why didn't we get any of those cute things!!? I just shrugged my shoulders and said you don't always get them. Our housekeeper just happened to be coming out of the doorway a few doors up....she 'ahemed' and pointed to our window....yep, two of the cutest towel animals you could imagine were sitting there. We hadn't even looked out, or at, the window.

I hate to see kids getting disappointed when they don't get these. While they are cute, they are only towels. If you get a housekeeper that has no idea how to make them, it won't matter how much you tip. Well, I guess if the housekeeper really wants that tip, she can go ask a friend to make her up some towel animals. It's just nothing I'm going to worry about when going to WDW.

Those are soooo cute! I love the monkey!!!

FYI: I have 2 friends who's daughters are mouse keepers. As with any good thing, we (general public) tend to shoot ourselves in the foot.
Any way one works at the CR, the other a CBR both have stopped doing towel animals all together or doing it very, very randomly. Why? they say because they are tired of getting mugged every morning by irate guest who "DEMAND" towel animals for their kids. It seems more and more people have been either reading or hearing about towel animals and getting irate when they don't get them.
If you request them and don't recieve them please cut the mousekeepers a break. They are not lazy, they are busy.

I keep telling the girls, next time some one demands a towel animal, leave them a bunch on a dirty unmade bed. see how that works.
