We got several this year as well. Cut little eyes glued on and everything. We asked one of the managers, and he said it's just something nice to pass on with the older towels that cannot be used in the rooms anymore. They don't get thrown out and they spread a little Disney magic. According to him, they are gifts, so, no..it's not stealing. Hope this helps clear it up, if you have any questions about it, just ask when you get there.

We stayed at Pop last March and didn't receive a single towel animal, even thought we left a note(and a nice tip) asking them to please leave us one. In September, I asked at the front desk and sure enough, we had a towel animal. We were told we could take it home and we did! I will definitely request one when we go in October.

In December 2006, my DH & I stayed at Pop Century. Whenever we go to Disney we always take a picture of our Baby Golden Retriever and sit it on top of the TV stand.

On day when we got back from the parks we saw that we had gotten a dog towel animal. A couple of days later I saw that someone in another room had gotten a towel animal in the shape of a Mickey Head. The next morning I left a nice note for the mousekeeper to see I too could get one and when we got back to the room it was there.

I kept both of them and have them on my night stand next to my side of the bed to remind me every morning of Disney.

We got six towel animals on our last trip. We asked and were encouraged to take them home.

I just ran into them yesterday and was going to throw them out - anyone want them??

On a stay at CSR in 2006, we had a mousekeeper who made wonderful towel animals. I left a note indicating how much I was enjoying the creations, and got a personal invite by the mousekeeping manager to learn to make several designs. It was a "magical moment" and she was very excited for me to show family at home what I'd made...

I remember looking at her and saying that would be stealing - but she insisted taking ALL the towel animals home for future enjoyment was very much permitted!

In fact, I ended up getting a magical moment certificate, a photo taken, and an email when I got home to ensure I did not forget "how to make the animals!".

When we stayed at POFQ last year after our wedding we went back to the room one day to find 2 kissing swans hung above my wedding dress, the next day we returned to a minnie towel bride, it was beautiful, dh rand reception to see if we could buy it and was told it was a gift and to just take it.
