Towel Animals ?'s

You can beg, you can leave huge tips, you can stalk your mousekeeper, but if that mousekeeper doesn't know how to make the towel animals, nothing is going to make one appear.
We stayed at POP, 50's, bldg 2 one time. We were there for 6 days...every day we walked to and from our room, passing a whole section of rooms that had towel animals in the windows!! We never got one. Why? Because our particular housekeeper didn't make them...plain and simple. In about 18 or so stays, I've gotten towel animals about 5 times.
We have asked, both the housekeeper and the front desk about keeping them. We have been told every single time that they are ours to keep. We had a terrific hanging monkey on our cruise...him I would have loved to take home but he was just too darn big!!!

Here's a duck we got when we stayed at Beach Club last June:

we stayed at por for 8 nights in december, for 6 of those nights, we rcvd towel animals. I can only guess that the other girl didn't know how to make them. We brought home some of them, there was a smal mickey and minnie that we brought home. my sister in law tried to bring home a christmas tree she rcvd in her room, it was made of 3 separate towels on top of eachother and didn't transport very well. our girls ran back to the room (literally) every day to see what new animals we rcvd...even on the days there were no towel animals, mousekeeping always did something special with their stuffed animals it makes the trip a little more special!!

We had this ???? towel thing waiting for us when we checked into the Poly in August...anyone have a guess as to what it is? We never figured it out, but my DH said was the tiki god of towels :lmao:

In 2007, we stayed at the Poly -- no animals.
In 2008, we stayed at the WL for a week and received a Mickey head on check-in and then a dog, a cat and a doll (after I left a note that DD loved the cat). DD's stuffed animals also moved around a couple of times (watching TV or hanging off the bunk bed ladder).

I think it is supposed to be an elephant with its trunk tucked in between its legs. The ears look like elephant ears.:confused3

It is the creepy tiki elephat...watching you as you sleep from on top of the TV... BWAHAHAHAAHA!!

:lmao:

I have left thank you notes and nightly tips, and in all my 20 or so trips, I have never received a towel animal...never received a discount code either, oh well:goodvibes

We leave $5.00 in an envelope each morning with a little "Thank you" to the mousekeeper for keeping our room so fresh, and out of 14 nights at the Poly, we received this one elephant:

Unfortunately, too big to bring home in the suitcase, but we did enjoy it while it lasted, and got some cute photos!

I really believe it's just a matter of what the mousekeeper can do and how much time he/she has to create something.

I'm secretly wishing that I finally receive my first towel animal on our next trip :rotfl: The closest thing we've ever gotten was a tooth brush holder at POFQ made out of a washrag lol And we do tip each and everyday, so it's not a lack of tipping.

Maybe a bear?

Ok...going with elephant (?), but my DH totally agrees with you ConcKahuna! He kept saying that it was watching us as we slept; we even joked that maybe was should leave the TV on for it during the day as to not anger it :rotfl:
