We have ADR for Kona at 5pm and want to get over to watch Spectro at 7pm--if we valet park can we leave the car and take monorail over? Or car will be towed??? or better way to do it??? Thoughts? Thanks!

In my opinion, if you paid to park at the Poly and you ate dinner there, you should be able to go where ever you want. You pay to park at the main lot for the same price so why should it be any different? I have self parked in the past and went to the MK. Now I know that they frown on that, but if it is a slow time of year and you patronize the hotel, you know shopping or eating, then I think you can sneak away to the MK for an hour or two. Who will know? If you want to be safe though pay for the valet. There shouldn't be any problem.

If you pay to valet, it does not matter. If you have a adr for breakfast/dinner then they give you a pass for three hours that you have to put on your dash :cool1:

sorry, the pass for the three hours is free. we did this at ohana's. we valet parked for our evening at concourse then we rode the monorail and went to MK for an hour.

Resort parking is for the guests of the resort. Folks having dinner there are entitled to park there for 3 hours, free of charge. If they wish to visit a theme park, they are expected to move their cars to the theme park's parking lot.

Particularly at the Polynesian and CR, as the valet lots begin to get full they will simply refuse cars whose owners are not registered guests of those resorts. It happens a lot during peak times, and sometimes during off peak times, so have a backup.

In all honesty, it will be quicker for you to park at the end of the TTC over by the Polynesian and walk. If you tell the parking attendents at the TTC that you are actually headed to the PR for a meal they will allow you to do this. Parking and taking the short walk will be quicket than waiting for someone to valet your car and then retrieve it at the end of the day.

sorry there is only a time limit on the pass, not Valet. And before i am flamed by the morality police i asked security at the parking lot at the contemporary(planning on eating then taking monorail for a ride, maybe go to MK and see spectro and he said that was fine. I also asked the captain of valet and he said no problem(i was paying for valet parking). Maybe it was a slow night i do not know,it was two weeks ago today. or maybe since it was after seven pm that they did not care. Anyway we never even made it to Mk because we had to ride a while on the monorail until my kids and husband could ride up front. :cheer2: The CMs were very helpful and sweet to my children. I would never use the valet in the morning as the TTC is not that inconvenient if you go before the crowds :smooth: But it was nice that evening, we are even thinking of staying there next year :moped:

I've valeted it in the afternoon and evening in order to eat then g oto the parks. Sometimes I have come back late - real late and the car was there. I always worried about being towed but I like valet parking it better than parking out in the big theme park parking lost then finding the car ect. Plus I call the valet stand ahead of time from the theme park and my car is at the ready when I walk up.
I've done it at the GF, WL and contemporary never done the poly.

I just don't think they would tow a valeted car.
