Tours Minimum Age/Marceline to Magic Kingdom

I had a question along the same lines. We are going down this summer and wanted to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour, however our youngest doesn't turn 16 until 3 Dec.

I just booked the steam train tour and they told me that only the adults needed a photo ID.

Not trying to encourage anyone to lie or fudge on ages, but just to reassure you that you do not need IDs for your kids (to prove they are old enough): Just did the Marceline to the MK tour a few days ago with my just turned 12 year old. He was a preemie and is still extremely small for his age and very young looking. He was not asked for any ID or proof of age of any kind. And, just for the record, MDE still lists him as being 10, which is the age he was when we first used that. We've had CMs at guest relations update it several times, but it always still shows him as 10.

For Keys to the Kingdom, your kids absolutely will have to have a photo ID. They won't let anyone take the tour without one. There's not a way around the age limit for KTTK (and other tours for 16 and up).

16 is 16, not 15 and a half.

I appreciate you clearing that up Alesia... I was pretty sure they stuck to that but her question isn't that far outside the box. Perhaps she had previously been on a Disney Cruise with the kids club in which case they will allow you to to do such things. 13 is 13 or 16 is 16 is not always the case.

We did the KTTK tour a couple years ago and no one was asked to show a photo ID before we began the tour.

I was taking a tour maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I'm 71 now. I had forgotten my wallet/ID back at my resort. They drove me back to my resort in a Disney van to retrieve it. Drove me back to the park and I met up with the now in progress tour, maybe 20-30 minutes into it.

Trust me, I did not look like I was younger than 16.

So all states do this? Never heard of it here but also never had a need to check in to it before. Will I have to do this in order to take the tour at Disney?

yep. pretty inexpensive too. honestly its a good idea for any child to have an ID

Took my just turned 16 year old on the KTTK tour at the end of September. They DID NOT request an ID for him, and I had his passport ready to show. I even asked if they needed his ID, and was told "no".

When we took my older DS on the tour right after he turned 16, he had to show his ID to prove he was old enough.

Not sure what changed in those 3 1/2 years, but they were much more lenient in September.
