I'm taking my parents to WDW this September, and they were interested in taking one of the tours. They were really interested in the one that tours the multiple parks (sorry I can't remember the names :p ), or failing that one, the behind the scenes at MK. My question for you out there, are these too quick-paced for 65 year-olds that like to take breaks? Is there a lot of walking... especially with the world one where it's like 7 hours. Any input would be appreciated.

They're not gardening people, so the flower tour at Epcot would not be for them ;)

We took the behind-the-scenes MK tour a few years ago - we being my mom (now 75 and I). It lasts from 9:00-1:00 and there is an hour lunch break on your own (we went to Columbia Harbour House). The walking was not bad. We entered the "underground" from a shop on Main Street, toured the area where the parade floats come from, discussed the architecture in Adventureland, etc. It was a great tour and we enjoyed it.

Bumping up -- Has anyone done the multi-park 7-hour tour? How much walking? How much travelling? Is it worth it?

Thanks :flower:

Maybe they'd like oneof the Segway tours - not much walking on those, LOL!

Best wishes -
Actually we thought the Segway tour would be relaxing because of the "not much walking", but you are standing for almost the whole duration of the tour. I've been on the Segway tour twice, once with DH and once with my 23 yo DD and 30 yo niece. We all were surprised how tiring standing in one place for 2 hours can be. And others must have felt the same way, because during the tour, you could see people shifting position or taking one foot off the Segway platform to stretch out their legs.

: WE have done the 7 hour tour twice. It is called Backstage Magic. There is some walking, but you are transported in a bus from park to park. In the Middle of the tour you are taken to Mama Melrose for a preset lunch (which is a lot of food and very very good). I use a wheelchair as I can not walk long distances, but did not use it on this tour and I was fine. There was one period of time during the tour that there was a little longer time of walking, but nothing bad. I am sure they will love this tour as you get to see so much. :jumping1:

Thanks webmomom :) A few questions for you: Do you still get to see behind the scenes at MK on this tour? And do you need to have a hopper pass?

Hey, thanks.

I should have read this one first. We will be going to meet our grandkids during Christmas vacation, and I was wondering about how strenuous it would be.

The kids say we will be just fine, and I propably will be ok, but my wife is not too much for lots of walking.

I saw a list of several attractions that may make our list of things to do.

Thanks.

Yes you go backstage at the MK. You also go down under the MK. I really don't remeber if you needed a hopper pass or not. :confused3 I know you did have to show you pass right after we started the tour at Epcot. That was the only time we had to show one. I hope this helps.
