I was would like to know if any has used touringplans and how it work out. Already a member so your not trying to sell it to me. Just wanting to know if I can do what my personal plan says I can do.

I used it extensively to plan last fall. It was extremely useful. I hadn't been at Disney for a very, very long time and it really helped me understand which queues would build up at which times so that I could plan the order of the rides, and it also helped me understand how much I could get done any given morning or afternoon. Of course you can't expect it to be accurate to the minute, but, I think it can help you make the best plan possible. Then once you are in the park, keep some flexibility and adapt to the circumstances and you'll be touring very efficiently. It never steered us wrong but a few times we modified it on the fly (for example, when it rained and some attractions were closed). If you take the app into the park you can even make those changes on the fly.

The way I used it was to auto generate the plan based on my choice of rides, and then I tweaked it where needed (to limit zigzagging a bit, and also sometimes it would leave big blank spaces between two attractions if the second one was a show), and re-optimized it. I ended up with a great plan.

Pretty much given up in it. It won't let you implement your existing FPs (Sorry I'm not nuking a 7DMT FP because it will save me 17 steps) it always enters my breaks and dining for 3 hours after I enter them, and there's no way to account for character M&Gs. Honestly feel like it was a huge waste of money.

I loved using touring plans in Feb! I was able to customize everything (including breaks and meals) and I like how you can state your preference of saving steps or saving time in line. Once I figured out how to incorporate my fast pass reservations, it made it even better. I was a first timer though, so I needed all of the help I could get! Lol

I have successfully added in my FP+ times for all 7 days of our trip. I do find the lack of characters very frustrating. Thankfully I googled up a 20% off coupon so I don't feel it was a huge waste of money. I can utilize the plan but will have to manually work in the characters times.

Also disliked that it left off BBB but I faked it out by entered in CRT

Aren't the characters all listed? I seem to remember if you pull a full list of attractions they are listed as "Meet Ariel at her Grotto" as an example. Then you can select which ones you want to do?

It can certainly be tricky to navigate though.

No matter how much I manipulate it (enter it manually etc) it still insists I nuke my 7DMT and ride it standby with a 30 min wait (Hahaha) at 7pm instead.

Nope, pretty much the only characters listed are those with FP availability. If the characters is 100% stand by, like say Phineas and Ferb at HS or Snow White in Germany, they are not on the list

I did have to work with it a bit to get it to take all my FP+ times but I did. Usually just manually reordering the selections was enough to get it to take them. But it did take work. It is more trouble than it's worth

But, for us to plan our morning attractions and our afternoon attractions I found it helpful. I was able to use it to group things in ways that makes our breaks more effective. If we weren't trying to work in lengthy breaks I doubt I would have bothered using it

Interesting.

Could you add a "break" in the spots you wanted those characters in your plans? Wouldn't be optimized obviously.

Yes, and I have in some cases. It's more frustration that they didn't include them than anything. It does take away from the usefulness of the plans.

Plus, many of those M&G have times and without the website returning a result that shows you the times, like it does with say, Ariel show at HS, it's hard to know exactly where to put them.

Agreed.

But part of the problem I think is that Disney doesn't list the times for these M&Gs until closer to the actual date. As an example we are going in Nov. There are no times listed for Snow White at Germany.

I have to say. I am a planner and total spreadsheet guy. The new rules and games we have to play with FP+ are making this "not fun" for me - which is saying something. I can only imagine someone without my level of OCD either being completely lost or completely angry.

60 days out will be an interesting night at our house! LOL

hi!! where did it show that your discount code took? I have used a couple today and it still shows $12.95 on next page where you put your payment info in, thank you if you can help!

I have been using the personalized plans and what I did was build some of my plans prior to getting fastpasses and then worked fastpasses into those windows so I had some extra buffer on time if the wait ended up being longer than they thought. You can also add breaks that you can then label for Character M&G if you want. So far after making my FP reservations the other night I have 3 of my 7 days ready to go and print out.

I have used them in the past before FP+ so this fall I will see how well it works now with the changes.

You know, I can't remember exactly how I got it to work but I did have a bit of trouble with it. All I can remember is I got it to take eventually. And I paid with Pay Pal. Other than that, I am not sure what order I had to do what, sorry.

thats ok I just got it to work, its a bit overwhelming to start with, WOW!!

Interesting. I didn't realize it was a paid site. With the code it's only $10,but still...

I wish there was ways to add different things on the TP planning program we love meet and greets they don't offer the characters usual spots on the site to put in even though its hard to predict times for them.. I have to add in like China pavilion for mulan and estimate how many mins... And put a note for mulan.

We are going when most every park is under a *4* so according to their blurb we don't really need the touring plans.
Which is good because I'm finding trying to set them up rather trying. :confused3

However I'll persevere and print some out for our group. Will we follow them? We'll see.

I just do not at all understand why they say that. In my opinion, the opposite is true. You need a good plan even more when the crowds are low, or you are going to think you are there when it's all a 10

Here's why
When the crowds are listed as a 4 (as example) you'll find that Disney has reduced CM staffing too. When crowds are an 8, they'll have 4-5 registers open, 2-3 trains on the track of a coaster, 6 boats running on POC, that type of thing (all my figures are for illustration purposes only). But when it's a 4 they have 1 register open, 1 train on the track, 1 or 2 boats on POC. So yeah, you are elbow to elbow with a lot fewer people but without a good plan you could wait in line even longer than someone there with double the crowds.

Trust me when I say a red park at crowd level of 2 will feel like an 8. Crowd numbers mean little, it's all about how it feels and how long you wait on things.
