I just subscribed , however since I have never been to the parks , I am a bit confused , and I just do not feel like it put out a logical plan .

we will be visiting the parks from july 8th-10th , we are staying onsite and have express pass .

july 8th would be the studios days , although we do have park to park passes , july 9th we will take advantage of early entry and want to hit the WWHP first thing , we also have a breakfast at 3 broomsticks at 9am
july 10th will be a favorites day

any suggestions on how this should be approached ?

The studios will also have early entry in July because of Transformers. As of now Despicable me and Transformers will both be open attractions for early entry at the studios..
With the express pass you really do not need that much of a touring plan. The only thing you need to do is make sure you get to IOA for early entry to experience Forbidden Journey (and Ollivanders if you want) because those 2 attractions do not take express pass. After regular opening if you have kids under the height max and are interested in Pteranodon flyers ride them. That does not take express pass either and the lines are HUGE all day long

Since you are staying onsite and will have unlimited Express, lines will not an issue for you. You don't really need a plan except I would recommend eating at off peak times to keep the lines are short as possible. July is very busy...very hot and very humid. Drink plenty of water during the day. You can also head back to the hotel to rest or swim during the hottest part of the day and then return in the evening.

I never go with the plan they give me. I make changes and then hit 'evaluate' and it will give you a plan in the order you put things.

Definitely take the advice about FJ and Pteranodon Flyers. We had Express, first week of December, and walked on to everything, but PF had a 40 minute wait!! (Got in line with the Univ app telling me it was 20 min; never saw the posted time! Wanted to do it once anyway, so no biggie.)

We'll be at Universal the week of the July 4th and I'm curious to see how touringplans works for us. It was amazing for our prior two trips to WDW so my hopes are high, esp. since they have a realtime app. Even though we are staying on-site and will have Express, I plan to use the suggested tour.

We went in march during Easter week with insane crowds, but due to having express pass there was no plan needed. We just worked our way around everything. We did make sure to do early entry for forbidden journey, and we lucked up on PF with a crew member taking us up the back way and bypassing lines. I loved not having a scheduled agenda!!

Did you make a reservation? I didn't think they took them.
Reservations are only available for breakfast and only if you purchase a package that includes breakfast. 3B is counter service so they won't take reservations for lunch or dinner.
