Touringplans.com & FastPass+ reservations and other ?

I just signed up for touringplans.com since I am about 8 days away from making my first fastpass reservation and have not had time to plan yet. Yikes!

Part of the reason I signed up for touringplans is because they recommended which fastpass to get. But many of the plans recommend none because the wait times are so low. Others do have faspass recommendations for rides at the very end of the day. So here are my questions.

  1. Are the wait times accurate?

  2. If they don't recommend a faspass, should I just choose the ones with the longest wait times on the optimized plan (that offer fastpass) or should I use some other strategy to pick them?

  3. If there is a fastpass recommended at the end of the day, can I get one for the beginning of the day without ruining my optimized plan?

  4. Not exactly fastpass related but, if I use some of their pre-made plans and move things around, am I messing it up or will the optimize option work it out automatically?
Basically, I have no idea how to pick my fast passes other than picking my 3 favorite rides for the day, but that may not be the smartest move or even necessary. I have virtually no time to plan, so I'm wondering if any touringplans veterans can tell me if I will be safe choosing a couple of their pre-made plans and making a few minor adjustments and just going with that. We're taking our 4 year old and I want to limit as much as possible any standing around saying "what now?" and wandering by line after line and saying "no, too long".

Any advice?

1. wait time on LINE app is accurate and real time. wait time on the planner is based on the data collected from the past.
2. I used "evaluate" more than "optimize" when creating my touring plan. The optimizer will give me orders that won't work for my family. I often ignore "no FP+ needed" suggestions and get my FP+ for rides that my family HAVE to ride, especially for the hard-to-get rides. When I am at the park, I will modify my FP+ on my phone as needed. HOWEVER! I do change my plan if TP says that I might get to a ADR or show late.
3. do whatever you think will work for your family. also, if you schedule your first three FP+ early during the day, you will have more opportunity to get 4th, 5th, and more FP+ for the rest of your day.
4. you won't mess anything up.

The plan is just to give you an idea what to do when you get to the park. Its like the grocery shopping list that you create before you leave your house. When I was at the park, I didn't follow my plan to a T. But the plan helped me to navigate the park efficiently without asking myself "what should I do next".

Pick rides that your family want to ride and pick your FP+ based on that. Also, on your day to get FP+, you don't need to get all 3. Just get as many as you want. When You can definitely use the pre-made plan and adjust it to your liking. If you want to avoid "now what" situation, study the park map and circle the rides that your family will like to ride. That's what I did. Have fun planning!!

BTW, there is a forum at TP. You are welcomed to post your plan on the forum there so others can give you suggestions.

Thanks! That's super helpful. I also did not realize there was a forum on TP. I will check that out. :)

I like to look at easywdw.com FP priority list for each park and use that as a guide for picking FPs. I then plug that into my TP.
