Touring the Oceaneer Club on the first day?

My daughter has never had the privilege to participate in any of the Youth Clubs on DCL due to her disabilities, on our last cruise I overheard a family talk about touring the Oceaneer Club on the first day. I have seen pictures online and it looks absolutely adorable, I would love for my daughter to see it. Is it possible for us to take a tour and take pictures on the first day even if she won’t be participating in the club? And if so, are there set times to tour? TIA

There is normally Open House in the Clubs prior to sail away. There are also Open House periods on some of the other days as well.

Yes. When we sailed on the Dream during March, they had an Open House where anyone was able to visit. Since there are two distinct areas in Oceaneers, the Club and the Lab, when one is in Open House mode, the other was secure and the kids that were checked in were kept separate from the Open House area. We visited the area with the Millenium Falcon and Disney Infinity . . . and it is awesome. I have a video of my DH and Mom driving the Millenium Falcon that I shot during that time. Your Navigators will list when the Open Houses are scheduled throughout the cruise. I hope your daughter enjoys her time there!

As PPs have mentioned, there are open house times when anyone can go in. Definitely take your daughter to the clubs at those times. You don't need to schedule it. On embarkation day, all the club areas are in open house mode in the afternoon at least up until the muster drill. If I'm not mistaken, they don't switch over to secure programming until around 5:00 or 5:30 so there is still open house time after the muster drill. On other days, there is usually at least one hour of open house time at either the Club or the Lab. Those times will be listed in the Navigator.

Whenever you see Open House on he schedule for the Club or Lab you can go in with her and she can at with your supervision. Easy!

Are you cruising before the Fantasy goes into dry dock in April/early May 2017 or after? No official information has been released, but I wouldn't be surprised if they made some changes to the Oceaneers Club/Lab during dry dock. They added Star Wars and Infinity rooms on the Dream during its last dry dock. Since Disney is discontinuing Infinity, they obviously won't be adding that, but Star Wars is a definite possibility.

Again, we don't have any firm information, just speculation. I was just throwing it out there since there were some changes to the Dream's Oceaneers space. I would expect large portions of the Club/Lab to remain the same, but there could be some new themes as well.

My daughter is on the spectrum so I totally understand where you are coming from. We're not doing the parks this coming trip, but I told her there was a new film for Soarin' and you'd think the world was coming to an end.

Yes! That is exactly why I'm trying to do some research before we tour, it helps to be prepared as much as possible to keep the stress level down. Thanks again!

Awesome! I'm excited to see the changes too, this will be our third time on the Fantasy. On our last cruise a CM told us that one of the changes will be replacing the arcade with Vanellope"s Sweets & Treats. I think that will be great!
