Touring Strategy

We're making our first trip to DLP this June. We're old pros at touring WDW, but I'm wondering if there are any touring plans out there for DLP. Is there a website, book, or thread that's essential reading?

welcome to the DLP board Tom.
There is not touring plans in a way similar to WDW.
Regarding books the Brits Guide to DLP is very popular but possibly not so readily available stateside.

Brits Guide is pretty much impossible to find in the US unless you buy a copy from Amazon.uk or look on Ebay.

But I would start here as a resource - you'll find valuable information if you start with the stickies, and then read threads on the first 5 or so pages.

A DLRP trip does not need to be planned with the same assault as a WDW trip, and can be much more enjoyable as a result. No 180 dining reservations, etc.

I'm going to be presumptuous and rephrase the original question in a way that (I hope) will lead to the answer desired. I'm assuming that, like me, Synonymous plays a good game of theme park, and could use that knowledge of WDW in DL (the original) with good results.

So, perhaps, the better question is are there any assumptions about the US parks that would be different in Paris? For instance, Storybookland in California is in a high traffic area, and always has a wait. However, it is my understanding, from the Brit's Guide in fact, that it is less crowded in Paris, in part because it is tucked in an out of the way location. So, for us "experts" in the US parks as far as what is most popular, what has a high/low hourly capacity and such, what are we likely to find that varies from our "norm" at DLP?

I guess that's pretty accurate, ralfrick. We've only got a day and a half at DLP, so I want to maximize the attractions we get to. Do we need to run straight to Space Mountain at park opening? How fast does the line build up for Pirates? Can we save the Haunted Mansion for later in the day without too big a queue building up?

Those are the kind of tips I'm hoping for. How do you veterans plan your day?

My biggest tip would be the use of the Fast Pass sysstemwhich is different in Paris to WDW.

Also we tend to head for the furthest point from the gates as most tend to head for the nearest ride and long queues form there straight away.

I always plan my days around the parade & show times - allow at least half an hour before to get a good viewing point, heres another link

Just back, weekends are a nightmare! 80 minutes for BTMRR, 50 minutes for Indiana Jones, 30 mins for IASW!!!!
Weekdays, more manageable. My tip would be just to enjoy the parks and not expect to be running around doing ride after ride after ride. (Unless of course, you fastpass everything, which is still going to be hard going!
Also, the crowds seem to amble as opposed to walk! I got frustrated walking behind people who weren't moving fast, or seemed to be unable to get out my way!
The people are friendly (which I wasn't expecting).
