We will be at our first MNSSHP on 9-14. The plan is to arrive at MK around 4:00. Where should we go first? POC is a top priority and of course HM. This will be our first park of our adult only anniversary trip and DH loves MK but really doesn't do the thrill rides(no space mt or BTMRR for him). Just hoping some of you MNSSHP experts have some tips. Thanks

PoC doesn't usually have long lines. HM probably will, due to the update.

If you know what you want to ride, people will probably be able to help you more. :)

OMG my husband and I have gone to WDW without the kids and I am so excited for you!!!! We love the MNSSHP!!! Here is the best part, after the best fireworks ever, the park really clears out. It is so wonderful to be at MK in the dark and then to ride the rides at night with no lines...fantastic! I hear the riverboat is a must do but we haven't done it yet. Splash mountain at night is a-whole-nother ride. Oh, was that on the no ride list? Anyway, have fun.

If you subscribe to the UG website, they feature several different touring plans for the MNSSHP- one for families with kids more interested in the party events, and one for families with kids more interested in the rides. There is also a plan for adults. They are all really good, with maps and the order to do things to maximize enjoyment while avoiding lines.

What is the UG website and how do I find it, thanks

We are doing our first MNSSHP

***************** is the website.

Some of the touring plans are free, along with a trip planner, and then for more plans and a daily crowd calendar, and some other things you have to subscribe, and I think its $7.95.

I think its well worth it.

The best idea for touring the park is to start in Adventureland and go clockwise around the park. Keep in mind when the first parade starts and make sure that you are on the OTHER side of it before it starts. The parade will prevent you from crossing the park. You will want to be on the Splash Mountain / Big Thunder side of it. Wait to see the second parade if you can. During the first parade ride SM, BTMRR, and HM. Make sure to get a photopass picture of your party next to the carriage that sits in front of the Haunted Mansion. They make some neat adjustments to your final photo. Keep touring the park clockwise until you have done all of the attractions and photo ops that you want to do. Make sure to get a spot in front of the castle for the fireworks show. Also, be sure to arrive early for the second parade. The Headless Horseman appears before the scheduled start time. I think you can get into the park as early as 4:00 with your party ticket. Some will tell you to wait until 5:30 or 6:00 to enter the park so you will see the transformation of Main Street. I don't think that is necessary. You will be just as surprised if you see it when you are waiting for the fireworks and parade. Very nice touch. Besides, the lines at the attractions thin out around 30-40 minutes before official closing time so that is a good time to hit the rides. We were able to ride SM and BTMRR 3 times apiece and walking right on each time.

The fireworks and parade are OUTSTANDING!!!

HTH. If you can think of anything else, I'd be happy to help.

My mom and I did MNSSHP last year and will most likely do it again this year (on 9/14 too!).

We loved going on Tomorrowland Transit Authority at night. It was fun to see all the decorations and lighting- very cool. Same with Splash Mountain- it's a great experience at night.

Go to the second parade like others said- more kiddos at the first one (and more crowded).

By the end of the night the HM was pretty dead (lol) although this year it might be more active since it's going to be just reopening.

can you think of any attractions off hand that are not open during this party?
