I just read on another thread that there's a line app for Universal in addition to the Disney app. Do you get access to both with a Touring Plans subscription? Or do you need 2 subscriptions?

When you get the touringplans subscription, there is an added cost to add on Universal or Disneyland. I think it is about $7.

People keep mentioning the reservation finder but just FYI that's free and doesn't require a subscription. The room request feature, Lines app, and the actual touring plans do.

TP has maps of all the resorts with the room numbers and categories. Subscribers can set up a request for desired room location that TP automatically emails 30 days prior.

I'm a big fan of TP, although I've never used their plans. I've used it to find discount tickets, dining reservation finder, and of course the Lines app.

What I've been looking at recently is the accuracy of their crowd predictions. For most of July they were pretty accurate but they have overshot the past few days at all of the parks. I'm happy about that considering I leave tomorrow!

I just plugged in tentative tour plans for Dec 26 to Jan 1 and it felt like wait times were extremely low even though the crowd levels are noted at 9 or 10 for each day and for most of the parks for each day. Something doesn't feel right. For example, wait times for Dec 31 @ HS shows 26min for M&MRR, 43min for TSM, 23 for SSD. Now granted, the planner has optimized, but that still feels like short waits for NYE when the park is at a level 9 for crowds.

I looked at Dec. 27 for Epcot - a crowd 10 level - and Test Track shows 35 min wait at 6:55pm. Does that make sense?

No, that doesn't make sense. Those wait times are similar to those for this past July when crowds were rated a "6." I think looking at individual ride time predictions so far out will be misleading. My guess is that 9s and 10s are what I'd expect during the Xmas/NYE time period. I'd look back at days when the crowds were a 10 and look at what the actual ride times to get an idea of what to expect.

I use TP‘s Crowd Calendar to decide which park to book my park pass reservation each day. I then make plans for each day, more to see how long it predicts each day will take. I’ll revise each plan to see how the times change. I don’t necessarily follow the plans, but I’ll go left or right in the park based on it. After the first ride, I depend on the Lines app for the next ride. You also have the ability to update your plan once in the park to take advantage of the latest data they have.

I'm looking at different dates but similarly far out and have seen similarly low waits. I'm assuming that TP will update waits and crowds a bit closer to my travel dates - and after the new Disney Genie App is rolled out.

I'm counting on the TP crew to analyze and optimize by gathering tons of new data starting October 1 for how this app affects lines. I expect TP to be essential after October 1 - I could be wrong, but I trust their "unofficial" (not-Disney, so less biased) analysis more than I trust Disney's IT and Genie App. I also expect that numbers and waits for my trip will undergo significant changes between October 1 and my actual trip!

It also shows you the view from many room windows to give you an idea of what you'd be asking for.

We just got back and I'll say that TP was a necessity! Their lines app was almost always accurate and helped us navigate attractions.

Touring Plans is awesome. We’ve use their plans many times with great success. Lots of people on the board use their services. Their Lines app is awesome and worth the subscription alone.

I love Touring Plans. I've never used the planner, but have used the lines app, the room view, and the reservation finder with success!

We have found TP to be a great value. Used them for our 2015 and 2018 trips, and will use again for our trip at the end of this year.

You need two. The Universal subscription is a separate one. It's less expensive than the one for Disney. I have both for our next trip.
