Hi everyone. Hope this doesn't go against the policies here in this forum.

Has anyone had success using Touring Plans' planner? Their park planner looks interesting and I signed up for their subscription. Any tips with using it? Thank you everyone and hope everyone is well.

Touring Plans and the dis are friends. We can talk about them. I opted for subs for the first time this year and I’m very satisfied. There is another thread about how TP is doing with Covid that you should check out.

I didn't use the actual planner for this trip, but I have in the past and loved it. As others have mentioned, the lines app is worth the subscription cost alone. I didn't use the actual planner bc I had some doubts that they have enough data points under current park conditions to make it accurate enough.

I think it is a great tool even to use under these park conditions. What I would do if I were using it is to refresh "optimize" the plan every time I finished an attraction.

Thank you, everyone. I paid the subscription for it and for the Touring Plans Universal as well. Anything other than Wait times and the Planner that I should know about?

It really helps our family. I make a plan for each park with just our must do attractions, but select a variety of arrival times for each and always 6 hours or less park time. It helps me make sure we get it all in, and not stress about start time. My DH is disabled but absolutely will not use a wheelchair. Our park time is determined by many factors - so some days we need a very late start, other days rope drop is fine, some days need to be short, and others we can be there open to close. Bottom line is it helps us be flexible and still have reasonable wait times.

So I have used TP mostly for the room finder, reservation finder and room request service but have used the park planner. I think for someone who hasn't been to WDW in a while, it can be helpful but it does take a little time to set up your plan unless you go with a recommended plan. When we went a lot initially and were unfamiliar with things, it was helpful for navigating distances between attractions. If you want to play with it, it could prove helpful with the optimization feature to help you on things you might just miss even if you are in the parks more frequently. I last used for my April trip when we weren't sure if we'd bypass Epcot open or not just to hop to MK. It was helpful and even though I didn't follow it, I could edit it and create my own plan which is nice if you like to save park plans.

I've been using their books for nearly 30 years and their apps as long as they have been around. Happy customer.

Touring Plans used to offer discount codes. But now when I go to the renewal page, I do not see anywhere to enter a promo code. Have they stopped offering discounts?

Not sure about the renewal discount being listed on their site any more, but this is my renewal email.
Your TouringPlans.com subscription for Walt Disney World will expire in 30 days. If you extend your WDW subscription before it expires, you are eligible for a 28% renewal discount.
If you are renewing, you should receive a similar email.

I love the park planner, but I don’t stick to it religiously. It helps me plan the best time of day for rides with longer waits and gives me a good idea of how long things will take so I can be realistic about what I can fit into a day.

I just plugged in tentative tour plans for Dec 26 to Jan 1 and it felt like wait times were extremely low even though the crowd levels are noted at 9 or 10 for each day and for most of the parks for each day. Something doesn't feel right. For example, wait times for Dec 31 @ HS shows 26min for M&MRR, 43min for TSM, 23 for SSD. Now granted, the planner has optimized, but that still feels like short waits for NYE when the park is at a level 9 for crowds.

I looked at Dec. 27 for Epcot - a crowd 10 level - and Test Track shows 35 min wait at 6:55pm. Does that make sense?

I just read on another thread that there's a line app for Universal in addition to the Disney app. Do you get access to both with a Touring Plans subscription? Or do you need 2 subscriptions?

I use them to structure a plan for my park days. In the past, they’ve been pretty accurate, so it gave me an idea of how much I could plan for a day. Their times always seemed to be more accurate.
