Just wondering if a yearly membership for $12.95 is worth it? We are planning an August trip. (Well, I am...DH is still stressed!) LOL. Input welcome, thanks.

IMHO it's worth it if you are interested in a touring plan. There plans are great and save hours of line waiting. I usually use an adult highlights plan and subtract any attractions that I'm not interested in and that is perfect for me. They have times of all the shows, park opening and closing, menus for restaurants, ride descriptions and ratings by age group to help you pick what to do / what not to do. // Now if you are just looking for picking what time of the year to go and crowd levels, easywdw.com is all you would need.

When we pay about $100 per ticket (I usually just do one WDW park per year), $13 to make our day more fun is well worth it.

Thanks! I had not heard about easywdw. I will see closer to the time I guess - I planned our trip in '07 and felt great about things overall, but it's been a long time and there are more of us now! ;o) Still, as a PP said, $13 is not bad for the help!

If its your first or 2nd visit sure I can see the benefit in them. We never used them but have been going since 95. My SIL and her family used them once and it basically gave them the same info that we did. So while they can be helpful, if you are a frequent visitor, I really dont see the need in them. Just my opinion.

I actually paid for the touringplans but found easywdw to be more helpful and user-friendly. Easywdw worked wonders for our trip!

If you do decide to get touringplans look around for coupon codes. When I signed up this fall, I got a 20% off offer for scrolling down the main page. I do think I googled codes and got even more off. So I suggest looking on their site and online for coupons.

My Dad used the Unofficial Guides 20+ years ago planning my family's 1st trips to WDW. Now I use the Unofficial Guides and TouringPlans (same people) for my family's trips. They have accumulated a huge amount of data over the years and the customizable touring plans that you can optimize on the go are invaluable. Definitely for type-A planners ;)

Touring Plans provides a great deal of information, crowd calendars and predictions is probably the least important since the parks are always crowded now. They have hundreds of touring plans based on number and ages of visitors, they have all the menus at all the eateries and they have actual photographs of the view from every room at every resort at WDW. Exploring the site and info presented is highly recommended. Also, their Lines app is included with your subscription.

Also, remember these are the same people who have been publishing The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World for 20 years.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I also paid for touringplans but then found easywdw to be much easier to use. I ended up only using touringplans app for the ride wait times feature but it really wasn't necessary.

I use touring plans and easywdw and find them both to be helpful in planning trips and have for several years. They are both useful.

Mousesavers sometimes has a discount code for TP but as a PP said the $13 is not a huge amount for the information. We also like the lines app as it was always way more accurate then the disney one was.

I've had a touring plans subscription for years. I love their info and being able to look at their data. I also like customizing my own touring plans. I think the app alone is worth the small yearly fee. You can use the cose ZUZU2014 to make it a little cheaper.

It's actually ZUZU2015 now.

My husband and I went in November 2014 on our first trip to Disney and we used a combination of easyWDW and touringplans. I felt like the touringplans subscription was worth it for help with choosing our FP+ times (based on our customized touring plan) and using the Lines app in the park to view wait times and ride closures. Unfortunately, even though I spent a lot of time perfectly customizing our touring plan, my plans would all go out the window any time a ride went down! :D That's what made the Lines app so handy!

For our next trip, I think we will still choose to pay for the subscription, but I'm not going focus nearly so much on making a custom plan. easyWDW seemed most helpful for his tips/tricks, easy-to-read maps and recommended parks for each day.
