We have used Touring Plans on many trips to both WDW and DL with much success. I renewed my subscription for our upcoming trip to WDW but now I am wondering how accurate the touring plan with FastPass+? :confused3
When I put in my FastPass+ selections for Epcot the touring plan reported that we would be better off not using FastPass+ and following their plan.
Has anyone had any experience with the Touring Plan now that there is FastPass+? Has anyone else been told not to use FastPass+ with the Touring Plan? Quite frankly I am nervous to abandon my carefully chosen FastPass+ plans.

Our plan for Epcot chose to not use our Spaceship Earth FP+. I can definitely see it for that ride. Maybe it's the attractions that you picked or the times chosen for the FP+. It could also be the time of year in which you are going. How recently did you re-optimize your plan? I tried mine with some variations on no FP+ and different FP+ times. Our trip is still a week away, so I don't know how things are actually working.

I had this same problem and was told to drag the attraction to the FP time and then have it evaluate the plan (don't optimize). I kept doing that until it let me use all my fastpasses.

I also tried to do the plan 1st w/out FP selections and then selected FPs based on the recommendations on the touring plan :)

I'll have to try that. Have not been able to get it to pay any attention to the FP+ details I gave it!

Yes, I found that if the FP+ time fell outside their recommended time slot they would ignore it so either move the attraction around yourself or adjust your FP time to match their recommendation. I did both and ended up with a pretty good plan. Now I only hope and pray I can actually GET those FP times when my time comes otherwise it will be back to the drawing board on Touring Plans!

Yes, you have to override what they suggest and put in what you want. I would never forget the FP+ tickets, they are too valuable not to get!

I am glad to hear that others are having the same problem. Has it only been at Epcot? My other park plans worked just fine.
Has anyone used the Touring Plans now that FastPass+ is in place?

Yes, I used touring plans for our trip last week. I did the touring plan first, then tried to book fast passes and dining based on the plan. It worked pretty well, however, we had more time on our hands than touring plans accounted for. We were able to look on MDE and fit in low wait time attractions before the next step on our touring plan. We actually saw more than we thought we would and had longer afternoon breaks at our hotel to swim and relax.

I'll be new to touring plans but not to Disney on my upcoming trip. How did you know you had "extra time" on your hands - I thought it looks like touring plans doesn't quote actual times, just "next step, next step, next step" and you don't know what time it's supposed to be? Is it because you had arrived at lunch time according to your touring plan but it's only 10:30 am, or it says "watch parade" and its still 90 minutes before parade start?

The website uses times, and then the app may have just listed steps. I also used the personalized plans, so it may be different if you use their plans. But, yes, it had more to do with our dining reservation, or next fast pass. I think the touring plans program may build in some cushion with their times. Not a complaint, we used the extra time to ride an attraction with a low wait time, or browse shops. I'd rather find that I had extra time on my hands than be running to make a reservation or fast pass!
