touring plans crowd calendar

Our first day at the parks will be Sunday Oct 4. Since this is our first trip, I really wanted to go to Magic Kingdom on our first day. Touring plans has Epcot listed as the park to visit (I thought Food&Wine was going on?) and the other 3 as the parks to avoid.

Any advice?

MK will be fine that day but be aware that is the EMH park for the evening. But considering the overall crowd level at that time, you should have no problems!

so SMT are usually their busiest, especially Mondays.
You have to make a decision...is it worth it to fight the crowds to do MK the first day, or save the magic for later in the week to minimize crowd stress.
We used the Mike's plans for our first trip. They served us SO well--we only had crowd problems the day we veered from the plans! I was amazed.
It does depend what level of crowds they are predicting. If it is a 4 day, it probably doesn't matter.
Are you park hopping? Could you go to MK for the morning then to another park for lighter crowds? Mornings are managable nearly everyday at all parks.

We are not park hopping. Also the crowd level is a 5. I'm planning to get there at rope drop. I know I need a "plan" and I'm trying to decide whether to go with Tour Guide Mike or UG.

Oct 4th is a SUNDAY not a Monday. You will be A OK at MK on this day. The EMH evening guests will make it a little crowded but the Fantasmic showing at DHS will draw a lot of the crowds away. Stick with your MK plan, that is where I would go if I was there at that time!
