Touring plans 4 vs. 6, what does it feel like?

We've travled to WDW during low periods always meaning a 2 or 3. I didn't see Touringplans rate a DLR day that low at any times I was considering. Has anyone used Touringplans and then attended on a 4? What about 6? Weekdays are rated a 4 while we're there and then a 6 on the weekend both parks have the same rating on the same days - will we be better off doing DL on the lower 4 days and then DCA on Friday/Saturday 6 days? We are planning to use DCA EMH to ride RSR but we could hop after Thank you! Just wondering what to expect.

With park ratings at those levels you should have no problem doing everything that you want.

We were just there in March during Spring Break and park ratings of 8-9 on Touring Plans. The parks were busy compared to what we are used to and with closures like Soarin', Splash and Matterhorn which put pressure on the other attractions. Even with all of that we did everything we wanted to without too many issues.

We are there for a "6" on a weekday in may. I had kinda assumed a Monday wouldn't be so bad! But that sounds busy!

We were there in jan at a "7" level and got everything done. We leave sat which is "7" then drops to"4" then up to "6". We plan our day when it is above "5" with a break in it. w find a "5" or above means that the lines in afternoon will be longer than we like, usually at least an hour for all e rides, so we go strong in am, then wait to late pm to get all e rides down, take a nap, a swim, a sit down dinner am a aide during the late afternoon.

One thing I will say, a number in WDW is nothing like that number in DL. So a 2 at WDW is not like a 2 in DL. A 6 at WDW is not like a 6 at DL. I find DL is much more crowded overall than WDW. Can't say for sure, but I know that DL always feels more crowded to me than WDW, and lines seem to be longer at DL than WDW. So if you are use to 2 at WDW, even at a 2 in DL dont expect it to feel the same, it will feel a lot more crowded and lines will be longer, but doable.

DL will always feel more crowded since the park space is tighter while at WDW space is more open.
DCA will feel less crowded because its more open than DL.

Unless the parks are rated a 10, you should be fine. 4-6 is what it's rated when we're going in May too. Mondays are typically more busy as people take long weekends. Tuesday-Thursday are generally the least busy days. Touring plans only considers ride wait times, so the walkway could be crowded with people and strollers, but they'd still call it a 6 if the rides have certain wait times.

When we go during the off season, Touring Plans will often have M-Th as a 3 or 4, and then Friday will jump up to a 6 or 7. There is a difference that you can feel. The lower numbers reflect the fact that you can nearly walk onto everything but PeterPan and Space Mt. The 6 or 7 means that the it will take a bit more time, and you'll see Space, Big Thunder, and PP at 45-60 minute waits. It still ain't bad, but anything below 5 is awesome.

According to Touringplans.com yesterday Disneyland was scheduled as a 4 but was actually a 3 and DCA was scheduled as a 3 and was a 2 (this is on their crowd calendar, they tell you how they did yesterday). Sounds nice. Then they tell you how close they were to predicting ride wait times. They over estimated all of the ride waits listed except TOT, which they underestimated by 6 minutes. So wait times were pretty low yesterday.

Note: At a 6 they rate the wait for Indy to be less than 35 minutes with Splash and Space Mountains having waits between 30-40 minutes. So I don't think a 6 is bad. At an 8 those rides are listed around 50 minutes, which is basically where I've seen them visiting the parks during the summer. This is why we use FP and hit the parks early.

What dates are these numbers for? They sound great! We are going May 3-8.

To us, a 4 is OK. A 7 meant the park was very crowded with blocked aisles and having to walk through crowds sideways to get around. Lines for any better attraction were about an hour (or more) and restaurants were packed. When you look around you don't see much of the park because of all the people in the way.
We avoid 7 or higher now because it just isn't fun fighting the crowds.
