Hi,
I updatedy TP with my FP+ and it is not adding them. It says they don't recommend them because it will result in longer wait lines.

Help please.

Usually, the issue I've run into us that it will result in longer walk+wait. TP takes into account not just how long you'll wait, but how long it'll take you to walk there. Like, if you have a 3:30 FP+ in Adventureland, but you're currently standing in Tomorrowland with lots of other TL stuff to do, it'll ignore your FP since it'll send you way out of your way. Best thing to do is plan your experiences, look at the longest waits, and plan your FPs around those.

Great, thank you. that is exactly what I am doing.

Optimize without FP+. Then put you FP+ back at the times you have them. Then evaluate rather than optimize.

The Touring plan SW uses military time. Also you must enter your FP as well as schedule the ride. Adding a FP+ does not add in your ride.

I cannot get this to work. It is frustrating. I am trying to add my FP and it doesn't take them. I have evaluated, optimized, before and after and no luck. Help please!

I am playing with mine now.

I add a FP, based on the suggested FP ressies according to DIS (there's a huge thread on that). Then I hit optimize. It spits out the new plan with the FP ressies on it. I can then add another FP, optimize again, and it saves the new FP addition. After I have done that x3 I make changes according to my needs (remove an attraction, move something to accomodate a reservation) and then evaluate and it fixes all the times.

It's a little klunky but Im getting there!

GL to you!

I have had similar issues, and find the software extremely frustrating. I'm going to try one more time tonight. If that doesn't pan out, I'm giving up.

Good grief. It's ignoring my FP+ selections, but leaving me 2 hours of "idle time" staying in a given section of the park. I'm definitely regretting paying for this.

This is just my experience, of course. For others, it may be worth it. But I sure can't recommend touringplans to anyone.

i am not sure I like the personalized plan. But we had TREMENDOUS success using one of their plans on our last trip. I may end up scrapping the personalized bit and go for their plan that worked for us, and just do the FP+ ressies according to recommendation.

I can see how that might work better. My problem is this trip is just me and DH, and there are a fair number of rides we won't be doing. I was expecting, once I eliminated the things we don't want to do, that the plan would condense down what we do want to do. Instead, it just left huge gaps.

Now, if there was a comfortable seating area and access to adult beverages during each of those gaps, that might be alright. :rotfl: Unfortunately, I can't find those on the touring plan lists. :lmao:

I emailed them. I will let you know what they say. I don't think we should need to be making all the tweaks. They should make easier for us.

I'm following along, having similar issues. And when I've tried to ask questions (perhaps I'm not doing a good job explaining) I've received prompt responses but they only sort of help, not completely. (Also from now on, I need to start all my emails with "I know that it uses military time, and I've used it accurately." :) )

At this point I have a TON of personalized plans as I try to create one that matches the advice I have from Josh, this site, and Touring Plans itself - but takes into account the MK EMH morning we plan to use. When I try to put in sample FP+ to see how it works (too early for me to get them yet) - the system seems to go wacko.

:confused3

That's where you just put in that you're having a break. :)

Yes, it does wind up with large empty spaces in the middle of the day. I got FPs for those times, anyway, and just declined to tell touringplans that I have them. Especially at HS, where distance isn't quite as significant a consideration.

We did the Touring Plan first, then got FP according to the touring time recommended. We'll just go on certain things twice if the lines are short and we have fast pass for it; or,,we'll do the Touring Plan and then go back and use the FP for the time we got it.
BTW: I hate this FP+! Disney has screwed up many an annual pass holder by making us plan so far in advance. Other, non-organizers will likewise find this new system is horrible.

I had the same problem and later realized I had entered my fastpasses for times that weren't possible (2am instead of 14:00 for 2pm). For whatever reason, the software didn't recognize my error and tell me to correct it, it just told me that my fastpass times weren't used because they'd "result in too much waiting time". Perhaps that's the problem?

No. I have been using military times :(
