I am helping a friend with some "touring plans" for a trip Oct 16-18. They are on a very tight budget and so very tight timeline to do as much as possible with only a 2 day ticket. They are thinking that they will get tickets to MNSSHP for Sunday night to give them some more time at MK, and maybe even do all they want to that night so they can spend the next 2 days at other parks. They want a "commando" touring plan.

I told her she should be able to gain an extra 3 hours by entering around 4--I assume those that go the first few nights will report back if this practice is not allowed this year--but I am going to go on that assumption.

SO, my ? is: Assuming they enter the park around 4 on Sunday Oct 16th, where should they go first to maximize their attraction time? Of course the big 4 are top on the list--BTM, Splash M, Buzz and SM.

I am thinking I should advise them to hit Buzz and SM first since it is later in the day and the day crowds will have moved off from Tomorrowland, and most coming for the party will gather there first later in the evening. Then send them to the other Mountains (maybe stopping at Philharmagic on the way) and then have them then work left to right from Adventureland pirate: .

Anyone have any commando advice for me? I havne't done the party in commando :rotfl2: so I don't know what to expect for the four o clock entry!

Thanks!

Well, keep in mind that they will be herded into Tomorrowland for what--and hour or two while the CM's "dress" the park for MNSSHP. Can someone who's been before provide a better limit on the amount of time you're stuck in Tomorrowland?

It's for the hour the park is closed to be cleared out...from 6:00p to 7:00p.

Yes.... So while everyone is in Tomorrow Land every who does not have a ticket must leave. While in Tomorrow Land they will have shows and all the rides will open. IT is going to be great.

Yea, I remembered that. Was figuring that would be a bad time to ride Buzz and SM though. Thinking they do Buzz and Space first at 4 and then to Frontierland for the other 2 and do as much other as possible (may not be much!). then when herded to Tomorrowland they can do Astro and TTA and maybe some of the Fantasyland stuff (don't they usually keep that open also?) :confused3

It's been a couple years since we've been to MNSSHP, but when we've attended in the past, Tomorrowland was the only section of MK open while the park is decorated for the party.

Do your friends have children? My plan would depend on what ages the kids are.

If getting through all of Fantasyland is a priority, do that from 4-6:00. It will be more crowded during the party than it is during that time. We have been able to get through everything in Fantasyland between 4:30 and 6:00.

Between 6:00 & 7:00 Tomorrowland is definitely pretty crowded, but you're stuck there, so you might as well plan on getting on a couple rides there that hour.

We've been to MNSSHP twice on Halloween when the event has been sold out. The only crowds we've encountered have been in Toon Town and some of the Fantasyland attractions. We've found waits no longer than 5-10 minutes at Splash Mountain, BTMRR and most of the other "E-ticket attractions".

IMO, they are making a wise decision in attending MNSSHP. I believe we accomplish as much, or more, at MNSSHP (from 4pm - midnight) as we do in a full "regular" day at MK. And, there are a lot fun "extras" at MNSSHP!

Matt, that's a great website, podcast - thanks for posting the link...

I just wonder one little thing... the ep 2 speaker Mike gave the tip to get a Fast Pass for Haunted Mansion... :confused3 I thought the FP machines were closed, have they opened up???? ::MinnieMo
