I will be going to DL/DCA in a couple weeks. We will be going on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with park hoppers, but not on property.

The way I read is Wednesday early entry for some staying on site at DCA. This means that we likely wouldn't want to do that park early to try and get a head start as others would have been in there for 1 hour/half hour already. I was wondering which method would work best.

We have either Tuesday or Thursday for our early entry to DL. If I use it on Tuesday then I would think Thursday would be our best option for trying to get on the new ride at Carsland as everyone would be allowed in the park at the same time. Or, I could switch it and try to do it our very first day on Tuesday which would push our early entry to Thursday for DL. (not sure I want my first experience to be trying to get on this ride that seems like a long wait even first thing, or that not hitting DL as my first day either)

Finally, I am wondering if I should just bag trying to get the Carsland experience and go about other stuff to save touring time. This is our third trip to DL, but we haven't been in 4 years.

Any thoughts?

Actally, AP holders have early entry to DCA on Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun. I think those days are still less busy than the others, but DCA is open early to someone every day of the week, so if you are like me and staying off property and don't have an AP, then you will always be an hour behind.

I still think at least checking out CL is worth it, and trying to get a FP for RSR, as it's supposed to be a fun ride.

I thought the AP blackout dates would cancel out the early entry for those people, no?

Okay, so I think this might be the plan....

Tuesday--DL MM
Wednesday--Park Hop
Thursday--Hit DCA as early as possible and see if we can get on RSR as it will only be APEE that day and not hotel guests. I still don't know it this is worth it. Perhaps it will be determined by how much at DCA we get done when we park hop. Sure was easier to park hop in off season when DCA opened a couple hours later.

We are going Tues-Fri, and we are doing pretty much what you are doing, and adding in park hopping on Friday. I think on Tues (the day we are using our MM at DL like you) we will try to get over to CL to see the neon lights turned on in the evening...I've heard they play music and make it special. I think it's around 8 p.m..

Have a great trip!

I think your plan is a good one. :)

We're also going on a Tues - Thurs, so this was the info I was hoping to find. Sounds like a plan to me too. :thumbsup2
